NYC Strength Coach/Adequate Gym?

Does anyone know where I can get some good coaching in the NYC area? I’d like to learn the olympic lifts, not to mention every one of my lifts could use some work.

I’d even settle for a good “hardcore” gym where I might be able to pick up some things from the veterans. I’m really starting to get fed up with these assholes who bench for 1 set, take a 15 minute rest period to talk on their cell phone, then proceed to tell you to “get your back flat while you bench” or “don’t squat that low, you’ll hurt your back.”

If you want to learn the olympic lifts then there is no better place than Lost Batallion Hall on queens blvd. in queens. Coliseum Gym in middle village queens has everything you could ever need to train Westside (bands, chains etc…).

Iron Island gym in Oceanside, Long Island is a great place to train too. They have chains, boards, lifting platforms, stone platforms, atlas stones, sled, log, safety squat bar, olympic bars, tires and sandbag.

I believe he said he wanted to learn “Olympic lifts” not “Westside” if you want learn Westside, go to Columbus, Ohio and go to Westside and learn there.

He said he’d like a hardcore gym. you do not have to go to columbus to learn westside. I’d say the majority of people who train westside have never trained there. its not rocket science.
