I’m referring to buying a house and or renting from an apartment because those are typically the two options people will have when it comes to housing.

It’s crazy how all these companies will buy land and/or build apartment complexes everywhere. If we want to live comfortably we have to spend sooooo much, and some can’t even afford a house or rent of a decent apartment.
I’m surprised as to why the gov’t doesn’t fund this industry more and ensure there is enough proper affordable housing. This is housing were talking, for it to be so monetize just seems so unethical to me.
Caveat- “Housing that suits my taste”.
People can live almost anywhere. More desirable=more money.

I should’ve said she likely won’t be charged. I’m not surprised she is fired but I actually thought she wouldn’t be. That’s literally how low I think of NYC and educational institutions now.
I actually agree that housing prices have gotten ridiculous. And it’s not just a matter of youngins being lazy or not hustling enough.
But it also depends just where people are looking. I can sell my home and live in something much bigger elsewhere.
Oh and another thing. Why the hell does property tax exist?

The government is what has caused the current issue. Not sure I want the person who has caused the issue TRYING to fix it.

I think after a certain number of years of the same owner - your primary residence property taxes should cease or else you never truly own the property.
You just lease it from the government.

The gov’t causes the problem because they are weak. But, they have the power to solve issues. I even believe @BrickHead said the gov’t has the power to stop crime in places like NYC.
When I speak of current governments I speak of context.
Yes, the government can stop crime in NYC. It chooses not to.
The government caused the housing problem. A sane government can correct it or wouldn’t allow it to happen. But I don’t think the current establishment wants to fix anything. It literally has contempt for ordinary people.
Also I shouldn’t be looked be looked upon as some wizard whose words mean that much and I cannot possibly go into every context or minutia of all I write about here.
