That’s what they tell you.
A Marxist owns his home?
I thought while reading his post, “do people think celebrities have homes where people can just knock on their doors?” Like I can just show up to The Rock’s house, knock on his door, and ask for a conversation.
I wonder if this will go as far as to ban fitness requirements for physical jobs (firefighter etc).
Or lower fitness requirements for fatter people “INCLUSIVITY!”
“but what if they can’t catch a crimina-.”
“INCLUSIVITY!”
“what if they tire out befor-”
“IN CL USIVITY!”
I don’t think @tlgains is a wokist but I’ve noticed amongst the left generally and many young people these days, whose thinking is shaped by media and professors, a disdain for innocent people protecting themselves, and people that have achieved more than them, home ownership for example.
As said elsewhere, amongst them there’s a disturbing sympathy for criminals.
That’s why I believe leftism is accurately called an ideology of resentment.
Disclaimer: I don’t think all leftists/liberals are resentful.
Leftist and liberal are not similar enough to use the / between them IMO. I think there are significant differences, and many of each group don’t like the other group.
There are variations for both terms but they all lead to the same result.
Already happened. I remember a John Stossel report from back in the 90s about firefighters. Back then, it was “equal rights” not “inclusivity.” Apparently, women wanted to join who couldn’t pass the physical tests, like wearing all that equipment while hauling ladders, dragging people out of burning buildings, etc. So some fire departments had to lower the standards.
I have no doubt that some burly bad-ass CrossFittin’ women can handle it, and they should be allowed to be firefighters. That’s equality. But lowering the standards is equity. Big difference.
Terrible idea of course. The same as lowering the standards for minority med school students. First, kinda insulting and pretty racist. Second, who do you want doing your mom’s heart surgery? The best there is regardless of race, sex, etc. (equality) or the diversity hire who had to have his test scores modified to pass (equity)? Same for dragging my butt out of a burning building.
I don’t think I agree here. I also don’t think conservative and right wing are the same.
I find leftist and right wing policies off putting generally. I often find myself okay with either conservative or liberal policies depending on the issue.
I actually think:
Liberalism sucks.
Conservatism sucks.
Leftism sucks.
They suck generally, I believe.
I also don’t know how liberalism doesn’t fall under the leftist umbrella but I’m open minded for an explanation.
Equality is about accomplishment.
Equity is about getting paid.
A lot of people seem to miss that nuance, hence the confusion.
Mostly just the ones lacking in the first category but with a strong desire for the second.
I could be wrong TBH, but I see leftist as basically wanting socialism, more authoritarian leaders, woke stuff. I see a liberal as wanting capitalism with regulations where needed, less authoritarian leaders, and more of a libertarian view on social issues.
It does, no matter the issue, all seem to come down to “Gimme your money!” doesn’t it?
What sucks more are corporations and the amount of power they have because of money.
Money has always equaled power and always will.
There’s some truth there, but the general sentiment is often used to dupe people:
Politician: We’ll tax the rich more!
Average person: Yeah!
[new taxes pass]
Average person: Hey, why do I have less money?
Politician: Surprise! You were rich!
Average person: No, I wasn’t…
Politician: Too late! Ha ha! [buys 4th house]
At this point she’s at least been fired according to not the bee .. she ought to be charged
The Government lie to the “peasantry”?
Surely you jest!

I believe in more government regulation on corporations/industries.
Something seriously needs to be done about the real estate industry.
Being in this industry, what in particular are you referring to?
Yeah. There has been a spike in “Chief Equity Officers” and other such titles in the last few years.
Basically large corporations flying the flag that they’re paying their dues, don’t target us as [cause du jour] violators.
