I contacted Steve at Bev’s Gym, and a daily workout pass is $15 -sorry, no deals or discounts
‘Dinner’ (because Lunch ends at 3pm) at Minado’s is $31.50 and I don’t believe it covers drinks (soda, alcohol), or tip.
While this will end up running us each a ‘bit’ of $, I think it will be more than worthwhile. The gym is out on Long Island, so as I will be driving out there from Queens, I figured that anyone without transportation, who can get to me (via subway, bus etc), can hitch a ride (no complaining when I sing along to the radio though!) I doubt it will take more than an hour to get there, so anyone interested, you’ll need to get to Rego Park (63rd st stop on the ‘R’ Line) by 11am, Saturday July 9th
-Can we just get a ‘show of hands’ (sorry, Teacher here) to see who’s definitely in?
[I’m thinking we can shoot for our next one at “Strong n’ Shapely” Gym, Saturday 7/23/11, and then maybe Ironsport in Philly on 7/30/11?]

If you’re going to hit S & S the following week, I’ll just jump in on that one.
I’ll get to work on thinking of a place to eat afterwards.
Would love to get the chance to train with older more experienced people as i’m still a relative beginner and only 16. Repeat on what someone else said about not moving anything impressive hahaha.
Syosset is pretty close to me, unless i can just pass for 18, which is possible, i might have to get a parent to sign a waiver or something? Does anyone know if you have to do that just when getting a day pass? If i do thats a bit of a nuisance.

Honestly, I doubt that they’re going to be checking IDs at the front desk of a gym that usually sees a lot of people coming in on Day passes

I’m hoping we can do S&S on the 23rd. I’ll be on a cruise to Bermuda from 7/10 - 7/17 (nice little post contest vacation with my girl!)
So… I’m hoping it’s going to be a bit more than just ‘THOUGHTS’ and myself praying to the gods of iron, and then destroying a sushi buffet all by ourselves

Hi,
long time lurker and this thread made me create a username to post. Stu I’ve been following your progress, very inspirational!
I’d love to get in on this,I live right across the river in hoboken. Unfortunately I work most weekends so if you guys are planning it for the 23rd of july, i cant make it. I am off the next weekend however.
I’ll keep watching this thread to see if you guys schedule any other meet ups if thats cool.
Unless petitioned not to go, I’ll meet up at the gym.
So I’ve got ONE person who’ll be taking public transportation to my neck of the woods and then driving out to Bev’s with me. Anyone else needing a lift, who can get into Queens (R-Train), give me the word!

sheeeeeeiiiiiiiitttttt
count me out of this one. i just got an internship - 14.50 and hour too!! - and i have to train this weekend.
sorry to disappoint everyone hope fully i can make it to the next one or two…
Man, this sounds like fun! I’d be able to say that I met and trained with a WNBF pro!!!
I can’t make it this time, but hopefully this will not be the only time you do something like this because I’d love to participate.
So besides Stu and I, who is actually going?
Stu, if you do Ironsport on July 30 I am in for that.
Can’t make the other 2 dates.

Me, I called up asking about the day pass regarding if i need a parent signature and the answer i got was, “Uhhh… If they could come down that would be cool, if not dont worry about it.” So sounds pretty awesome already hahah. Anyway ik at only 16 I’m smaller and inexperienced but i bust my ass in the gym and i look forward to learning as much as i can.
Anyway, what time should i be getting there? 12?
OKay, so as of now, our ‘meathead summer’ is looking like this:
-Bev’s this Saturday (7/10)
-Bonham’s Strong n’ Shapely in NJ 7/23/11
-Ironsport in Philly 7/30/11
(any other suggestions are welcome!)
I don’t think we’re going to have as big a turnout tomorrow as I was initially hoping, but I know summer’s not always easy to coordinate, and maybe we’ll get more people out of the woodwork for the other dates.
The target time at Bev’s is 12:00 noon, but i figure we’ll be there a few hours, so even if someone can’t make it at the ‘start time’, feel free to drop in. I’ll make sure to wear a T-Nation or Biotest shirt or something -lol

What bodypart(s) are we doing btw?
I don’t know what is on anyone else’s agenda, but I plan on hitting my chest and calves tomorrow. There’s no “off-season” for me anymore -lol. Business as usual!
