1. What, no Farmer’s Walk?
2. What’s the diameter on the Apollon’s Axel?
3. What determines ‘Novice’ status?
4. Why the hell don’t they have weight classes?
1)I see that there is a Farmers Walk even for Open Men, just not for Novice.
2) 2" (between collars)
3) Novice is someone with no competitive strongman experience. For instance in the Open Middleweight, is Josh Finck (who trains with us), he had just competed in the California Strongest Man (as a Lt. Heavy). If he hadn’t, he’d be “Novice”.
4) Some do. If you check out the NASS site, you will see the weight classes listed as: 175, 200, 225, 250, 275, 300, SHW. Tod’s will just be offering a “novice” rather than “lightweight, middleweigth, lt. heavy, etc.”
E~Pluribus: I thank you for the kind words. And trust me, during the car pull I’ll be having a overwhelming sensation for a beer.
We’re going to have two memory cards for the digital camera and also a extra camera along. Puh-lenty of pics will be taken.
As for vids? Depends if the promoter will be having the event filmed. Usually they are. And if that’s the case here, I’m gettin’ a copy.
I dont get the “Bitchosphere” thing. I have read many of your posts and you appear to be a cool…down to earth…funny person. Not in the slightest way a bitch.
Can you explain?
Julie told me yesterday (Friday) that her and Tod will be holding a “recrutement” sometime soon.
They’ll be placing ads announcing such important details as day/date, time and location (more than likely at Jungle Gym, where we train now) in local newspapers.
I’ll also do my part and announce it here. Just be prepared! Anyone interested in the Portland area is welcome to give this a shot.
