Nutritional Info on 8 Oz Chicken Breast?

I can’t seem to find correct information on cooked chicken breast, only raw. Does anyone know how much cals/protein it would be? Thanks.

An avg chicken breast should be about 200 cals, around 40-50g protein. I buy bags of chicken breasts in bulk, and while some are a bit larger, and some are a bit smaller, I use the figures I gave in my journals figuring that it will all balance out by the week’s end.

He wanted to know about chicken not fish!

Nutritional information for meat is always raw (unless it comes pre-cooked).

This is because the nutritional content per ounce will change depending on how well you cook it (mostly through water and some fat loss).

A crazy idea would be to cook a serving of chicken breasts at 8oz raw, then weigh it once you are done to see how much weight was lost from cooking. From there on, as long as you cook it about the same each time all you have to do is weigh the cooked product.

It won’t be exact, but my guess is that you aren’t exactly at the level where you need to nail this information down to the gram.

Yeah bro, Fish is for the end of the diet,… get your meats straight.
(I know what you’re saying,… force of habit trying to be helpful I guess)

It’s posts like this that have driven me to employ myself as the secret policeman of T-Nation - sort of like a one-man T-Terror Squad.

It’s post like this that have now left me with the utmost cynicism regarding basic grown adult functioning in the areas of reason, logic, analysis, and independent thought.

But it’s also posts like this that have provided me the reason on why hardly anyone’s making progress and an indication that this forum will one day devolve into one that is overrun by a horde of meandering bums that will forever be relegated to sitting on a couch and endless thinking.

Whatever happened to the days of Arnold, Dorian, Lee Haney, Dave Draper, and so on - the days in which men just ate their goddamn food, shut their mouth, and got their ass in a gym!

I’ve now come to the sad conclusion that the internet has done more harm than good for the fitness world. I used to think all the new resources brought us to a point in which people could competently apply new information and we’d be left with more physically fit people than ever. But that’s not the case. :frowning:

This devolution I speak of is happening at an alarming rate, and it looks like there’s no stopping it.
