Nutrition

Has anyone used the body for life nutrition program. if so were you successful at weight loss. it says to eat a balance protien/carb/ and minmal fat meal every two and half to three hours. how would you rate this over JMB’S Dont diet program.

I think the diet does work…but it’s nothing really different from what T-Mag espouses is it? 5-6 small meals a day, high protein, moderate carb and fat intake. What’s the difference? Personally, I do better avoiding starches, so I dont believe in eating baked potatoes and rice, especially in the afternoon…I save it for evening meals. But most people do fine mixing carbs with protein and minimizing saturated fat intake.

In my opinion, “JMB’s don’t diet” is light years better. Keep in my that Body for Life’s diet recommendations rotate around the type of training you’ll be doing. The idea behind it is to burn as much fat as possible. Not much attention payed to preserving lean mass as in JMB’s format.

I’m in agreement with BigRob. The presevation of Lean Body Mass is not a priority for BFL; it’s fat loss and “how you look” in an “after” photo. One other thing: many of us will ABSOLUTELY SCREW UP with the “estimating of proportions” thing (myself included). I’m still in a measuring mode (less so as I go along) and have only recently began to decrease the number of foods I have to measure.

Hey…it was good to know that a World Class athelete like Lance Armstrong still measures out a lot of what he eats. Anyone know if that’s true of a lot of the “top” atheletes, especially Olympian? (I KNOW it’s not true in the NBA and NFL EXCEPT for maybe Shaq and Tony Siragusa! (smile!!!)
