hmmm like a gallon of cheap 2% per day or something?

Eat more. I have to eat over 4000 calories a day to gain mass.

While many comments have been made about your diet in particular; I wish to make a comment about your level of commitment and your level of intensity in the your efforts at the gym.

I ask what those levels are because judging by your post, your at the end of your mental rope which consequently rolls over into your workouts.

Early on in my journey to gain size, my attitude was often times my biggest adversary. Check your attitude and critique your efforts at the gym.

Follow some of the comments above about adding calories via milk and nuts.

Nine years ago I was 172 soaking wet and had to eat well over 4000 calories a day to reach the goals I wanted.

Your journey should be one of self discovery, mentally and physically. Begin learning YOUR body and what it best responds to.

Keep a log book, record what goes in your mouth and what goes on at the gym.

Just some suggestions bro.

Dont give up, then you would have wasted all that time for nothing.

Thanks, someone earlier in the thread also asked about other things like appetite and sex drive. They’re both in full effect still! But yeah it’s frustrating when I do all this work in the gym and it feels like I haven’t gotten anywhere. S

ee the thing is I was about 168 a year ago. I was probably averaging 2100 calories per day. I upped that to 3100 and got to about 180-182. For some reason I got into the mental state that since 3100 got me from 168 to 182, it could get me from 182-195 or so.

There’s your problem, your mental state didn’t change.

Adapt, adapt and adapt somemore!!!

You got stay in that learning curve.

That’s were the log comes in.

Ya wanna build a big enough house, have enough material to complete the job.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, if it is broke, FIX it.

I’m still trying to figure out if this is a serious thread.

If it is–eat alot more food. That’s all.

If it isn’t, hats off to you for sucking me in.

Your caloric intake is maybe barely at maintenance. Up your intake by 500 calories/day. Reaccess after 2 weeks.

eat alot of food, also try to take some stress out of your life. You won’t get anywhere with your physique if you’re not happy and free of at least major stress.

Don’t sweat the year, i’ve had a year here or there where I don’t get very far. If you make it your lifestyle you will come out on top, sooner or later.

Nutrition definitely makes a difference, but there’s a certain mentality that’s very important for people trying to gain weight. Concentrate on what you should be eating, not what you shouldn’t be eating(if you get what I mean).

Too many people will try to avoid certain things based on articles they’ve read. Most articles are geared towards obesity. Us smaller guys have a much different battle to fight. Sometimes you have to ignore what is good for you and eat a big bowl of ice cream, or take those nasty ass weight gainer shakes.

Your bodyfat is high for someone that has trouble gaining weight. This could be from stress or lack of intensity in the gym. My advice is learn to enjoy the gym. Go there to do what you love to do, not to do what you have to do.

I’m sorry man but that’s not gonna get him anywhere

eh, it’s not bad advice though. I do love the gym usually.

I’m plotting a new diet as we speak. I stocked up on gallon jugs of 2% milk at the supermarket yesterday.

dude, olive oil, almonds, peanuts all are cheap and if you add them in for all meals across the board, you will get your calories. Get Wegman’s brand of that shit if you have one around you.

Get rid of your tuna and replace it with ground beef. A can of tuna is what $1sh? use the $$ for that shit for beef instead. You can usually get a family pack size of beef for like $8-9.

People already said milk, so go for that too.

Are you getting in enough fiber? Maybe that’s the shitting problem? Add in apples and bananas or if you can spare the extra change, get a Hemp + protein supplement. It’s usually like $10 a bottle and you get 15g of fiber with 11 g. hemp protein. take that drink with 2 cups of cottage cheese.

are you eating cottage cheese? Buy it in bulk, its cheap!! get the 4% fat one. but take it with some kind of fiber food.

Salad, eat it but get a mixed spinach kind and dump Caesar dressing on it. Lots a calories in Caesar but no carbs usually. I like Wishbone’s dressing.

Have you ever thought about Poptarts post workout? The low-fat ones? After a workout I’ll down 2 scoops of whey in the last 20 min. then an hour later 1 scoop of whey with 2 poptarts. Thats got your protein and a good fast carb spike. 2 of those lil pastry fuckers are 360 cal. then 1 hour after that i’ll have a whole solid meal with a fruit for carbs.

There are various ways to gain weight for a cheap price but with not cheap foods. Don’t eat shit unless you have to. I prefer not to go the McD’s $1 menu personally, but my friend downs double cheeseburgers everyday and it works for him. He’s not fat, but he’s not cut. He’s bulking. Don’t be a lil bitch worried about your abs showing.

Also, maybe your lifting routine blows elephant balls too. IF youre following a paper cut-out from muscle and fitness then thats your problem right there. Try Wendler’s 5-3-1 program. It is very effective given you are eating and lifting with good form.

Good luck man. Dont be a little bitch and quit. Stick with it. It took me 2 years to go from 175-225. Keep experimenting and reading. Try a diet for 6 weeks before changing it around. It takes time to adapt to new changes.

Everyone is different so you gotta do the time to find what works and what doesn’t. Like I said, it took me 2 years and I’m still moving in the right direction. Keep at it. 4 years from now you will be satisfied with the results.

I never thought I’d hit over 200 and be able to squat 310. but I did and then some. Your day will come bro. Just dont’ be a fucking pussy.
