Nutrition question (Oatmeal)

Hey guys,

Quick question: I realiaze oatmeal is great for supplying the muscles with lasting energy…but, over the last year i’ve been using the Quaker (low sugar apple cinamon) "
“instant” kind. Does the instant oatmeal cause a insulin spike much like instant rice would? Or is instant oatmeal equivalent to regular oatmeal? Please advise…

Read the “Foods that make you look good naked article” in issue #172 of T-mag.

Yeah, I second that article. It cuts through all the grey zone as far as foods go. Basic rule I apply for food, is finding it at it’s most natural point of origin i.e oats: 100% natural - no sugar etc. I’ve been adding cooked (microwaved) apple & natural organic yogurt. You can make standard oats ‘instant’ by simply adding boling water. I throw all mine in the blender with sufficient hot water to give it a liquid consistancy then skull it. I assume your calculating daily calorie requirements for train & rest days, as I found Berardi’s ‘Massive Eating part 1 & 2’ great for fine tuning my diet for gains & ‘The fat fast diet’ for quick fat stripping results. Good luck & remember, the blender is man’s best friend…since the dog was liquidised:o)
