milk is bad for you. No, it isn’t. Some people are not able to tolerate components of milk, but in general, milk is a powerful tool for bodybuilders.
There is a reason why our enzymes shut down and inhibit the digestion of milk, we’re not designed to consume it after the nursing phase. No other animal on the planet consumes milk after the nursing period and we are no different.
False statement. If we truly “weren’t designed to consume it” we wouldn’t be able to digest it at all. Due to adaptations (which could very likely reverse if more returned to drinking milk) many of these enzymes decrease with age.

No other animal on the planet uses computers.

I’ve seen monkey’s and birds use simple computers.

Man, we have a lot of milk haters in here today.
I think, generally, that we are designed to eat just about any damned thing, plant or animal, that isn’t inherently poisonous.
This doesn’t mean we should only eat one thing, but that whatever nature happens to make available, be it snakes, grasshoppers, chickens, cows, roots of plants, fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs, dandelions, or whatever, we can consume it.
I dont hate milk and cant have a box of Entemenns without it, but its a fact that the Lactase enzyme shuts off and inhibits the digestion of milk.

Some people have a deficincy but most peoples lactase shuts off and this is the reason for the intolerance.

I could not agree more!!! The problem lies where “man” decides to mechanize/mass produce/“enhance”/process our food. The end result is often a substance that our bodies don’t recognize in full!
And ProfX, just like the lactose digestion problem that HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS through out the world have (especially certain Asian populations) similar could be said about grains. There are some very accomplished authers (Dr. Mercola being one of many) that have countless references to this fact.
TAKE HOME POINT: What each of us believes is a myth can vary wildly. There are some foods that our systems simply do not operate at optimum on. Sure you can eat a given food or not and survive either way. As is the case in the production of cholesterol and vitamin D for example. But, do we not want to thrive?!
Intolerance? Oh, well crap, if you are arguing that people who are intolerant to it shouldn’t consume it, then you are talking a whole other ball of wax.
Get your story straight. The very first thing I suggested was that those that have some type of issue with something should not consume it.
This doesn’t mean milk is “bad for you”. You’ll have to find something realistic other than interesting sounding catch phrases.

Intolerance in this case mean undigestable. Thought some common sense would help understand that… Since when is “intolerance” a catch phrase?
People that have their lactase enzyme in a dormant stage cannot digest lactose, fact. Though some supplements can fake the body into “digesting” it, its not real digestion. If the body cant process it, we shouldnt be consuming it.

So what?! I am lactose intolerant. I drink lactose free milk. Case solved, Scooby Doo goes home and smokes a bong with Shaggy while Nancy Drew gives up detective work for porn movies. That doesn’t mean milk is bad. It doesn’t mean humans aren’t “supposed” to drink milk. It means you buy lactose free milk and keep chuggin’. WTF?!

Oh my God, man. That is just freakin’ hilarious. LMAO!
There are a lot of things that our body doesn’t absorb, fiber being a major one. It is okay for some things not to be absorbed.
By intolerant, I mean, if you suffer upset stomach, the shits, or some other symptom, then you may want to avoid the food in question. I’m using intolerant to imply something beyond lack of useful absorption.
I wouldn’t advise eating 10lbs of fiber a day, it can be harmful too. But it’s not correct to say in general that fiber is “bad” for you. Cholesterol in an egg isn’t “bad” for you, but you can get too much of it or have a health condition which precludes you from consuming it.
Not being able to digest something, for some component of the population, would imply they should probably avoid it. This doesn’t make the food “bad”.
Let’s be sensible about this. People who have “issues” with something they are consuming should probably choose to consume other foods or to control their food intake very carefully. For example, salt is vital and required, but nobody advocates eating pounds of it at a time. Salt itself isn’t “bad” for you, but you do certainly have to limit your consumption of it.
Using your criteria, some people have type II diabetes, therefore, carbs are bad for you. The fact that large portions of the population can consume and process milk makes it a fine food for those people.
The problem isn’t with the food.
Nobody here is arguing that everybody should consume milk. Whereas you are apparently arguing that nobody should consume milk – by declaring it “bad” in some mystical way.
It’s food. There is no need to hype it. Simply explain why some people should not consume it, for their own health reasons. Let people decide if it applies to them or not. No need for the blanket hysteria on the topic.
I think everyone has gone away from Vroom’s main point. In general, milk isn’t bad for you.
Another example is peanut butter. A lot of people on this site mix it in with their Grow! shakes. Guess what, some people can die from eating peanuts or peanut butter.
Does that make peanuts bad? Not in general. Just like milk isn’t bad unless you are lactose intolerant.
