stats are in the title, trying to regain some muscle mass and weight. have a decent metabolism, I guess I would be a hardgainer. I took some advice on this site and stopped worrying about eating as clean. I’ve been keeping a food log and would love to hear some seasoned opinions about my nutrient breakdown for a typical day’s intake. I am drinking a gallon of milk a day, alternating whole and 2%.
I hear ya on the search function. I probably deserve that. When I get home from the gym tonight I’ll do some searching.
This is my current, and intended mass diet. I had no structured previous diet. I work construction, so I’m going to burn some extra calories there. I started ramping up the calories a month and a half ago, when I really got serious about going to the gym and regaining some mass.
If it matters, my goal is to break 180 lbs lean, by this time next year. I honestly don’t know what is possible, and if I can push the envelope to gain more than that, I will.

just be cautious of your carb timing if you want to remain lean. simple advice but it tends to work.
AM and pre workout work best.[/quote]
I’ve heard that before, I’d like to give it a try.
a couple questions -
Does that mean that after noon or so, I should cut carbs from the diet completely ? or just watch my intake and cut back significantly?
also, I read somewhere on CT’s page that he cycles carbs and fats, not letting them mix. an example would be having a carb heavy morning with little fats and vice versa for the afternoon. any insight on this?
if you’re looking to gain, you don’t have to cut out carbs completely after training, but sugars are something you might wanna consider doing without later in the day. nate green said it best… “a dinner roll with dinner ain’t gonna kill you”
as far as mixing fats and carbs… that’s a tricky question and i am not going to venture to give out advice on this one. personally, i tend to separate the two, but i’m not fanatical about it. however, again with the sugars… fats and sugars probably aren’t a good mix if for no other reason than foods with both are highly tasty and addictive (for me any ways). i’ll let someone else give a more in depth response here.
