Nutrition Been 1-2% of the Game!

Hey guys/gals,

Got something funny to share. Whilst at lunch today, a guy sitting near noticed me eating my steak and broccoli. He noticed that I was eating and protein meal and that I was larger than the regular individual so thought he open a discussion about training and nutrition etc.

He first asked where I train, how often etc…without going into too much detail, then continued to tell me where he trains ( I wouldn’t have guessed either way whether he trained or not, he was not fat or out of shape, but did not seem to have a lean muscular physique in the least).

So I took that maybe he went to gym, lifted some weights, and rode the excercise bike a bit or something. He then continued to go on about how he has “tried it all, 6 meals a day, supplements, low carb, high carb, early morning cardio etc”, and he has now what he is happy with…just eating healthy, a sandwich at lunch etc and that eating the extra 3-4 meals onyl accounts for 1-2% on gaining muscle and been ripped (however he worded it)!!

He says knows he is only able to lift a certain weight and that is his peek…? and that not everyone can get huge or lean etc. He is in his mid 20’s and by far would have given anything a decent try from what I gather, but continued to discuss his view re diet and training. I was literally getting hotter as he spoke such rubbish, even though it is harder for some individuals to obtain lean muscle and burn fat…it is by far impossible!!

He has simply made up his mind about the iron game and how to go about doing it, and seems to believe that his method for his body works well enough…I simply told myself, well, if he is happy, then who cares what he thinks…if he is satisfied, great for him! I simply told him, whatever works for you man…nice guy otherwise.

Anyway, wasn’t sure where to post this rant…but HAD to share the view of a general gym goer with NO idea, that seems to think he has tried it all!

Uh-huh…

Well, it’s his loss if he wants to be ignorant about this stuff.

The body is only as strong as the mind…this guy sounds weak. IF you tell yourself that you’ve hit your max weight…well that’s all you’re gunna be able to lift then. His loss.

“tried it all, 6 meals a day, supplements, low carb, high carb, early morning cardio etc”

If he couldnt gain weight he was probably not eating enough, and some people with really fast metab’s REALLY need to eat alot. He probably just didn’t wanna take that extra step further.

Did this guy tell you about his lifts? Maybe he is really strong…just doesn’t look like it.

“Where you believe you can or you believe you can’t, you’re absolutely right.”

If he tried it “all” and none worked, then his gym strategy/intensity would be the problem. Eat right and lift like a puss in the gym, your still not gonna grow.

From the sounds of him, I really doubt he even worked hard. There’s a reason why effort is an important part of everything in life. I think he expected his diet to get himself ripped and jacked.
