Those numbers are light, for Defensive Backs, at West Canaan H.S. !
But did any of them ever score 3 touchdowns in a single game?!
Three is pretty good, but four is better.

Damn; misremembered my 90s TV.
My cousin scored 3 and kicked a field goal! He had 2 bad knees at the time.
He hated lifting weights. Coach said if he could bench 225 x10, he didnāt have to lift anymore. So my cousin layed down, and pumped out 225 x16. From then on, my cousin would just take a nap while everyone else lifted.
Reminds me of a famous story about Herschel Walker. When he was in HS, the school got their first weight setāa flat bench and 250# worth of plates. The coach loaded all 250 on the bar, then brought the football team in to look at it. His plan was to use a 250# bench as an aspirational goal for the bigger guys on the team. Walker promptly lay down on the bench, knocked out 10 reps, got up and said in a perplexed voice, āCoach, 250 aināt heavy.ā
Ha!
My uncle attended the high school across the county from Herschel. He actually beat Walker in the 100meter, at a track meet, sophmore year. He coulda been NCAA champ! But he had to drop out of school at 16 to get a job at the mill.
One of the stranger cases of numbers bullshitters I can recall is when a local clown told me and my lifting partner that his regular workout was 3 sets of 10 with 275.
The strange part is when he came up to me a week later while I was bouncing and actually admitted that it wasnāt true!
I legitimately canāt tell which of these uncles/cousin stories are legit and which ones are ironic.
Iām lost
I just had a flashback of an old girlfriend who would boast that her couch potato dad had run a 10.3 100m sprint in high school.
I suggested this may not have been the case and she lost her nut at me haha
I remember doing some research and the time he was suggesting would have netted him something like a silver or bronze medal at the Olympics at around the time he was claiming this run.
the strongest uncle still has to be that dude who could walk up the stairs with a fridge under each arm. Remember him? The bear-mode guy?
I was literally about to post this
Some of my family members in Nepal have to do this. I donāt know about lifting numbers, but they all seem pretty strong to me lol. Iām sure they can deadlift decent numbers without ever having done a true DL.
It would definitely be interesting to take a group of sherpas and see what they could do out-of-the box with barbells. All those loaded carriesā¦
That said, a picture of a dude casually walking uphill with a fridge on his back seems out-of-place in a āNumbers Bullshittersā thread. I guess the box could be empty and heās just going for likes on instagram. You never know these days!
I learned a long time ago to take it with a grain of salt when guys talk about their squat numbersā¦
I honestly believe that most people donāt really grasp how ridiculous the stats they (lie) throw about make them sound to anyone who has even the slightest clue as to the sport or endeavor theyāre pretending to have excelled in.
While I like to think Iāve got quite the competitive history as a competitive BBer, I donāt go around exaggerating in my posts that I was ever 3% bf or anything so ludicrous sounding. Still, Iāve seen a number of people on this very site, whose contest history and pics can easily be googled, making such comments in their posts.
Whatcha gonna do? Itās an online forum ![]()

Dan John, of course, nails it.
Hereās how I interpret the BS-ing formulaā¦
Immediately take the best Lift you ever had in your life regardless of when it occurred in life. Round up to nearest whole plate then, add 20 pounds. Next, claim it to be for a triple. Since you did it for a triple you can estimate your 1RM at about 30 more pounds.
Based on this iāll be telling the next bouncer i talk to that i bench 365. As opposed to my true ever tested 1RM of 255.
Iāve legitimately seen guys post bodyfat percentages below zero, and when called out for it because itās so clearly nonsensical, have e-shrugged and said āhey this is what the machine told me!ā
