Not Bad Intelligence

The half-hearted effort by the MSM and congress to reveal that the rationale for the Iraq war was based on LIES – not “bad intelligence”.

Of course they’re being somewhat disingenuous by not delving more into Douglas Feith’s background – so I will.

CIA doubts didn’t deter Feith’s team
Intelligence agencies disagreed with many of its prewar findings.
February 10, 2007
WASHINGTON - As the Bush administration began assembling its case for war, analysts across the U.S. intelligence community were disturbed by the report of a secretive Pentagon team that concluded Iraq had significant ties to Al Qaeda…

The work of that special Pentagon unit - which was run by former Undersecretary of Defense Douglas J. Feith - is one of the lingering symbols of the intelligence failures leading up to the war in Iraq…

Of course this was all old news to anyone who cared to listen. Thanks again “liberal media” for not making a big issue of this BEFORE the 2004 election.

Gen. Zinni: ‘They’ve Screwed Up’
May 21, 2004
…Zinni believes this was a war the generals didn’t want - but it was a war the civilians wanted…

Zinni says he blames the Pentagon for what happened. “I blame the civilian leadership of the Pentagon directly. Because if they were given the responsibility, and if this was their war, and by everything that I understand, they promoted it and pushed it - certain elements in there certainly - even to the point of creating their own intelligence to match their needs, then they should bear the responsibility,” he says…

Who specifically is he talking about?..

Zinni is talking about a group of policymakers within the administration known as “the neo-conservatives” who saw the invasion of Iraq as a way to stabilize American interests in the region and strengthen the position of Israel.

They include Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz; Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith; Former Defense Policy Board member Richard Perle; National Security Council member Eliot Abrams; and Vice President Cheney’s chief of staff, Lewis “Scooter” Libby.

Zinni believes they are political ideologues who have hijacked American policy in Iraq.

“I think it’s the worst kept secret in Washington. That everybody - everybody I talk to in Washington has known and fully knows what their agenda was and what they were trying to do,” says Zinni…

Like father, like son…

Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith
Feith left Defense in mid-1986 to found the Feith & Zell law firm, based initially in Israel, whose clients included major military contractor Northrup Grumman…

In October 1997, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) honored Feith and his father, Dalck Feith, at its annual dinner. The organization praised the Feiths as “noted Jewish philanthropists and pro-Israel activists” and awarded Dalck a Centennial Award “for his lifetime of service to Israel and the Jewish people,” while Douglas received the “prestigious Louis D. Brandeis Award.”

Before he immigrated to the United States during World War II, Dalck Feith was a militant member of Betar, a Zionist youth movement founded by Ze’ev Jabotinsky, an admirer of Mussolini. Betar, whose members wore dark brown uniforms and spouted militaristic slogans modeled after other fascistic movements, was associated with the Revisionist Movement, which evolved in Poland to become the Herut Party, which later became the Likud Party…

Louis D. Brandeis Award
The Zionist Organization of America issues a Louis D. Brandeis Award, as Brandeis was a President of the ZOA from 1914 to 1920, concurrently with the beginning of his Supreme Court term. The award is the highest honor given by the ZOA, and goes to individuals "who, in the tradition of Justice Brandeis, demonstrate outstanding dedication and service to Israel, the Jewish people, and the community."

“[Feith] the fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth.”
-Gen. Tommy Franks in Bob Woodward’s Plan of Attack

OK, on second thought, I guess “technically” WE did get bad intelligence…

Israel To U.S.: Don’t Delay Iraq Attack
JERUSALEM, Aug. 16, 2002
(CBS) Israel is urging U.S. officials not to delay a military strike against Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, an aide to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Friday.

Israeli intelligence officials have gathered evidence that Iraq is speeding up efforts to produce biological and chemical weapons, said Sharon aide Ranaan Gissin.

“Any postponement of an attack on Iraq at this stage will serve no purpose,” Gissin said. “It will only give him (Saddam) more of an opportunity to accelerate his program of weapons of mass destruction…”

As evidence of Iraq’s weapons building activities, Israel points to an order Saddam gave to Iraq’s Atomic Energy Commission last week to speed up its work, Gissin said…

Also on Friday, President Bush said he knows there are “very intelligent people” who doubt the wisdom of attacking Iraq… [but those aren’t the people Bush listens to]

Israeli Subcommittee Faults Intelligence on Iraq
An investigation into Israel’s failure to provide accurate intelligence on Iraq’s weapons capabilities found that Israeli intelligence agencies suffered from a closed “information loop,” as well as other failures.

The conclusions are the result of an eight-month investigation by the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Subcommittee for Intelligence and Secret Services that questioned intelligence officials, military officers, and Cabinet members. On March 28, the subcommittee released an 81-page declassified report pending the completion of a longer, classified version…

The subcommittee found that Israeli intelligence agencies used information from foreign intelligence services without recognizing that the other states obtained the data from Israel in the first place.

That’s funny stuff, right there.

What happened to Zinni after he spoke out?:

?And one article, because I mentioned the neo-conservatives who describe themselves as neo-conservatives, I was called anti-Semitic. I mean, you know, unbelievable that that’s the kind of personal attacks that are run when you criticize a strategy and those who propose it. I certainly didn’t criticize who they were. I certainly don’t know what their ethnic religious backgrounds are. And I’m not interested.?

Unfuckingbelievable. Those jackasses sacrifice our troops for the interest of a foreign country and then have the arrogance to slander anyone who criticizes their treasonous agenda.

I really think Feith should be tried for treason.

The military’s opinion of the civilians that are supposed to be running them must be getting pretty low. All we need is an economic depression (which will happen when people around the world wake up to the fact that our currency is basically worthless) and we’ll have a military takeover. Goodbye Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Hello military dictatorship.

First of all, Zinni rocks! An intelligent, honest real leader of Marines his opinion should be listened to carefully. Particularly because he has always been an outspoken thinker in uniform instead of an outspoken bag of wind. While this info cooking has been detailed elsewhere, it was pretty obvious to all but the most blind/patriotic/ignorant that there wasn’t a strong case for this invasion from the beginning. I remember watching in horror as we lurched into this disaster, thinking: “What are people thinking?” The answer of course, is: “They aren’t.”
A good book on Zinni and the background for this whole situation is: BATTLE READY by Tom Clancy.

You’re starting to sound like Hitler, in his final days in the bunker.
What? You don’t like how your precious leader handled the situation? But you supported him for all these years. You got exactly what you wanted.
And now you toss the US and the world aside like a broken toy?

Well, the good thing is, in a military dictatorship, you would be able to rat out al those non-patriots that infest the US. You must be looking forward to that.

Hmmm…there’s not much connection between what I wrote and your response. But I will say: I do look forward to conquering Belgium as I lead my troops into your country. Since that has happened a lot, I’m sure you’ll know how to welcome us.

LMAO!!

Now that was funny.

I’m glad someone got a laugh from it. I’ve got to warn you though. After they grab power, perhaps the military will remember who lead them into the meatgrinder. And Bush and his cronies, and that includes you 2 morans, will be dangling from a lamppost.
Now wouldn’t that be funny?

And bowing to the military’s whims to appease them is different from this… how?

I support our military. And guess what? A lot of those generals didn’t support going into Iraq. They’ve showed us where the blame lies, and it’s not with them. It’s with the admin.

You continually calling people a “moron” and spelling it incorrectly time after time is funny. Trolls are always good for a laugh.
