I always knew that Norway was a stable western democracy. I had no idea just how rich it was though. It might be, in real terms, the richest western nation on earth. Or it seems that way to my, uneducated, mind.
Seriously Google…
The Government Pension Fund of Norway or, itâ??s former name, The Petroleum Fund of Norway.
Then remember that Norway has less than five million people.
I think, the wealth of the fund works out at something like USD 200 000 per capita.

To steal a line. Norway be ballin’, yall.[/quote]
Why didn’t we conquer Norway then, instead of Iraq? Afterall, we’re bloodthirsty savages trading blood for oil.
Norway is the richest country in Scandinavia. NOT THE RICHEST WESTERN NATION
It’s oil production is on the decline, www.fysast.uu.se/ges/en/publications/a-decline-rate-study-of-norwegian-oil-production.
Here’s what will save this thread:
After receiving the Nobel, Obama has CANCELED: a dinner with the Norwegian Nobel committee, a press conference, a television interview, appearances at a childrens event promoting peace and a music concert, as well as a visit to an exhibition in his honor at the Nobel peace center.
He has also turned down a lunch invitation from the King of Norway.
PREPARE FOR WAR, ARROGANT AMERICANS

He also insulted our British allies. Maybe he’s a racist. He seems to hate white countries. He bows to arabs and japanese, but insults ‘whitey’.
He’s too exposed to white liberals and knows what scum they are. Maybe that’s it.
He should spend some time with Sarah Palin or Ron Paul, some decent white people.
Delaying consumption is the only way to accumulate capital and thus wealth. People who live in colder climates seem to be more conservative in this regard.
Does the possibility of a deathlike winter trigger something psychological in people to delay consumption? That is my hypothesis.

He tries to impress, and suck up to those who shun him. Daddy-issues?

To get away from the Swedish winter, most of the Swedes save up during the year, then go to Thailand or Australia or Mallorca for a month or two. There’s more discipline with money, in general.
With that said, low income earners and welfare cases in Sweden don’t have this privilege, and must consume all they “earn”. It seems like lots of American workers do spend all they have too, but on shit they don’t need. Clever marketing, a need to have cooler stuff than your neighbor, or what?
You would have to post that monstrosity of a consumer outlet. But I believe a lot of those stores posted losses this year. More people in the US are starting to delay consumption. This is the inevitability of unemployment.
Still, I live in a very wealthy neighborhood of St Paul, MN yet there is little competition in “keeping up with the Joneses” here.
Besides, we cannot really compare people that do not have disposable income to those that do; we can compare the relative proportion of these two populations by taking a measurement of total savings per capita.
