Jesus, dude. Enough with the name-dropping.

Maybe not the best with a suit and tie, but I’m more of a t-shirt and jeans type of guy anyway.
Yes sir. I don’t understand how someone could spend thousands on a watch just to make a fashion statement. Then again I don’t understand fashion anyway. I have two pairs of pants and one pair of shoes.

I like Omegas too. Don’t have one yet though.
That’s not your’s. I smell a fraud.

See the plastic rectangle on the bottom right? That’s the high-tech international warranty thingame I was talking about. Each retailer that sells Breitlings has a machine that prints the model number, where it was purchased and the date of purchase on the back. Top left is the certificate of authenticity. Perhaps you just smelled yourself.
I got called back in to work but grabbed the heirloom timepiece for the cool story edition:
Omega Seamaster, 60’s or 70’s vintage. I’m not sure what year. This watch was given to me by my grandmother on my mom’s side. It was left to her by her brother who passed ~2000. Uncle Elmer disappeared during his tour in Vietnam. He was not heard from for almost 30 years. The only time he was seen was for about 5 minutes at his mother’s funeral. Nobody saw him come in. He said hello to his 6 siblings, took a glance at his mother, and left an envelope with a poop-ton of cash for the funeral expenses. He slipped out unnoticed. That was all that anybody knew of him from Vietnam until the late '90’s.
When his health started to fail he started writing letters to my grandmother. He was holed up way up north in Nova Scotia. He couldn’t talk about anything he had done, just that it was confidential and he could not return to the US.
So this watch carries with it some mystery. Was my uncle a defector/deserter? Was he a spy? Did he just run away? We’ll never know. Of course the Omega Seamaster is James Bond’s watch, so maybe that’s a clue. Maybe he just liked it.
WRT the watch itself, I only wear it once or twice a year. I prefer SS to gold and the face is smaller than I prefer. As the White Breit wearer above said, I like to feel some heft to my watch (not that the Seiko is all that hefty, but this is much lighter). I like the idea of the automatic movement vs. battery, but the practicality isn’t there for me as I take my watch off to sleep and more often than not it will need to be wound in the morning.
This is a watch that I like to have because of who it’s from and the mystery behind where it’s been. It’s not my style, but I appreciate its heritage and it’s place in family and film folklore.
I have a cheap $12 casio watch that I use for work. Works great since i’m always really busy and don’t have time to keep pulling out my phone. Also have a nicer Citizen eco drive watch I wear when I go out. I love the fashion of wearing a watch.

Watches make hands look sexier and women like sexy hands because hands touch women
Oh whoops, forgot to add
“Just my opinion”

Best watch ever.

A watch that shows the amount of time I have for crossfitters.

I see what you did there. I forgot how much I love Panerai, and that retro big black dial against the brown, cognac or dare I say, fawn leather.
Here’s my watch. I’ve had it for about 6 years.
If you look closely at where my index finger is on the case, you can see the seam where I JB-Welded the case back together.
I broke the tab off where the wrist strap pin engages while replacing the brake rotor and pads on my Suburban.

My buddy has that one. I haven’t seen him with it off in years (except during basketball).
This is my douche watch.
It is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak something.
I’ve tried to like it. It’s mechanically very cool.
But I really can’t stand it, but I wanted to show a watch I own that is suppose to be really cool, but is not.
Now, it does keep impeccable time, has an easy-to-use chronometer, and is indeed waterproof to some depth as I wear it scuba-diving because I don’t care what happens to it. Also has a really cool back where you can see the weight and spring spin around when bored on a call.
Long story how I ended up with this watch, and I will say defend myself saying I did not pick it. I hold it up as an example of money not equaling taste.
In the roast of Justin Beiber, I believe Martha Stewart described it well.

It is going to way of the pocket watch.

I do. Of course I am old. But I also don’t use electronics on Shabbos. I can look at it angrily when the Cantor is going long. Hence, true mechanical watches.
Yes, that’s mine. I will reluctantly out-douche SM.
Watch is neither here nor there for me, but I like that shirt design.
