Wish I still had those vids. It was 330 (but whoâs counting) and I always considered it a failure cause I was doing clean & press and not just cleans. I think I went 225, 245, 265, 285, 305, all good C&P, then jumped to 330 cause I hadnât done it since younger days. Made the clean but only got the Press half way. Was going to try again but putting the weights down was killing my traps. Think I was a young spry 56 or 57 then. Ah, the good old days. Had to edit that. They were Clean and Press. not jerk. Memories goin.
Happy belated birthday! That was a cool post. I always figured you were a beast based on the workouts you post. The photos and videos definitely proved that. Very inspiring that you still do what you do at your age. (Not sure how old you are but based on the videos I would estimate in your 60âs) Hate that my body/joints are starting to fight me on this in my early 40âs. Hope I can still manage to put in some good work by the time Iâm your age. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Dang sorry I missed your cake day! The pics and videos were super cool, now I want to go back through my old threads and see what I find.
Youâre right though, over 35 used to be the place here on TN, I still talk to a few of the OGâs on Facebook but others are just off in the wind. Glad youâre still here and killing it.
Got to admit I miss a lot of them and some of the conversations we had. Going back over the old post brought back some memories. Shame the section we us to put videos in isnât around anymore.
Thanks! Best cure for the joints Iâve found is just keep moving which you seem to be doing. 67 to be exact.
Had a bunch of errands downtown so hit the natatorium for a 45 min swim. Took it a little bit more serious today and pushed it. Good swim.
From one of my friends a while back. Old but somehow I find it Ă propos de to this group.
An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 9200 meters when suddenly a Eurofighter with Tempo Mach 2 appears.
Pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus flight, boring flight for you isnât it? Here, watch this!â
He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, only to swoop down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, âWell, how was that?â
The Airbus pilot answers: âVery impressive, but now have a look here!â
The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly stubbornly straight, with the same speed. After five minutes, the Airbus pilot radioed, âWell, what do say now?â
The jet pilot asks confused: âWhat did you do?â The other laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, went to the back of the plane to the bathroom, got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon cake, made a date with the stewardess for the next three nights - in a 5 Star hotel, which is paid for by my employer. "
The moral of the story is:
When you are young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, comfort and peace are not to be despised either.
This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older, Smarter.
Love it.
Excellent. Happy belated birthday. Youâre still quite the beast.

Simple beautiful day, clear and 61f/16c. Ran the 2 mile/3.2k to the dojo, did a quick half hour on the heavy bag and ran home. Ate lunch at Pancake House with 3 brothers. Banned from the house for much of the day and confined to my office now.
Last recon out to the kitchen area gave a count of the Wife, 1 sis in law, 2 nieces and 2 great nieces. Not even a crumb was given to stave off my slipping into starvation. Big Fais do do tomorrow out at number 2 brothers house. Gonna eat some beaucoup food and pass a good time. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Laissez les bon temps rouler!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your horde!
Ran across that Airbus/Eurofighter thing a few days ago. Good points. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!
Pass a good time is pure Louisiana.
And another Thanksgiving has come and gone. Good time by all. Great food, great family and friends, great time.
Friday - Ok, weâll call this a download day.
Sat - Bench and Tris
Sun - Shoulders, Bi, legs
Today - Throwing. Another beautiful day. Rest of the week is suppose to turn ugly.
Short post.
Iâm expecting one soon that says âAte. Worked out. Twice.â
And everybody hearts it.
I would.
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving.
Planned on swimming at the Natatorium today but storm came through last night and put a nix on those plans. Got a call soon as the sun came up. One side of the roof on brother number 5âs out building was tore off. We headed out and bought a roll of 6 mil 20â x 100â String Reinforced Poly Sheeting. With about 10 of us working we had it up and fixed in place within a couple of hours. Brotherâs Insurance man, whoâs insured most our family as long as I can remember, got my first car insurance from him when I was 16, showed up while we were putting on the sheeting. Called it my workout for the day.
Basketball team!
Do you have enough brothers for a baseball, or gasp, football team lol?
Only 6 of us, all men, and Iâm the much abused youngest brother. Now if you throw in cousins we could have a baseball, a football and a basket ball team at the same time.
