Today _ Totally crappy day, cold and wet. Headed to the Natatorium for a 45min swim. Home for lunch and some wood working in the shed. Watching Sharpe’s Enemy (#4) tonight. Probably only seen them all a dozen times.
Great work in here. Don’t blame you for calling it a day after helping repair your brother’s roof. Solid work since and love the swimming. Good job getting a run in right after that. Strong lifts as well.
Been running 2 miles a day and not much time for anything else. Lots of distractions. Anyway, finally mad it to the gym this morning. Bright sunny day gradually turned into cold an rainy. All set up to do some pressing when the phone rings. At least I looked at the bar, put on my belt, then answered the phone, somehow snapped a crappy picture, and had to leave. Hopefully tomorrow.

Been a lot going on at the Tut Fann State Veterans Home. Bad time of year for some/a lot of them plus there’s been 2 deaths among them. Most of the vets have no one else so they just need to talk to someone and especially someone who understand what they’ve been through. Myself, 4 of the brothers, several nephews have been taking turns visiting. Big Christmas bash planned, “No Gunny, ain’t gonna be no dancing girls. And no dancing boys for you swabbies either.”
Okay, back to what this forums here for. Finally hit the gym early after a blissful 5 hours of sleep last night. Pre-workout meal, most of a pot a coffee.

That was it. Got hungry as hell and realized I hadn’t ate much over the last couple of days. Got home slapped on the mayo, onion, pickle, jalapenos, lettuce, italian dressing. Came out to be about an 18" sub I figure. Had 8oz of zero everything plain greek yogurt for desert. Eating healthy is important.

Happy anniversary. And the Marines ain’t the only ones. I trained with, jumped, dived, swam, fought. lived with and was assigned to both the Rescue swimmers and SEAL teams many a time in my 30 years. I think I earned the right to messed with them. You want to get teased, try being USAF or now Space Force. The vets love the banter and give as well as they get. As for Jarheads, if I couldn’t joke them I could barely talk to my 2 oldest brothers, many nephews and great nephews.
Ok, I admit I’m a closet Marine. Just got steered from them into Navy by parents.
But, 3 unlimited hot meals a day did trump life in a Vietnam foxhole.

Going to be AWOL for a little while. Been asked to, an accepted, working a couple of vet support web pages through the holidays. Still making it to the gym, swim and dojo but most of my on-line time will be elsewhere. Still dropping in to follow all the exploits of our group here and in case I don’t make it back in time hope you’ll have a Great Christmas or holiday of your persuasion, and a very Happy New Years. To quote Gen Dougie Mac, “I shall return”.

Back after a very long couple of weeks. Went a few day without sleep but it was all time well spent. If there’s a type of Cauliflower ear from using a phone I think I got. Did make it to Midnight Mass with a large portion of the family and Christmas Dinner. New Year’s Eve was a very busy time on the phones so no partying. Made it the gym several times at 0 dark 30 and did my running in the strrets generall aroun 0200. My Tour of Duty on the phones is over but glad I did it.
Some good news. Two definite Track and Field Meets with a possiblity of at least two more so far. All come May and June if the creek don’t rise. Back to the gym tomorrow and changing more to more throwing type work outs. If it doesn’t cool down too much here should be able to get some good throwing in, too.
