One thing I’ve realized is, I dunno if I’m fast twitch dominant or what, but you can’t really judge my strength based on speed. I either smoke a lift or fail… there’s no in between. So I can smoke 95% of my max on something and look like an ox but it feels heavy as crap. Given that I hit 290 on bench in August, 255 should not have felt half as heavy as it did.

Where do you grip? I had pinkys just inside the rings on the last vid.

Iffy day today. Felt heavier than it should but it went up fine. I think my lack of food intake this week is hurting me… the high blood pressure thing is making me really not want to pack in the fats, cals and sodium. I’m not responding to meds whatsoever.

I took a vid from behind to show my back when I DL… but the camera was in a crappy angle on the floor and all you can see is my ass and calves. Not very helpful.

Sooo we had an end-of-season party for kickball last friday (open bar woot). I’m having a couple beers, enjoying myself, and I head over to talk to this girl I’ve been out with a couple times. I say something to her across the table and laugh, she turns away for a second. Then, Impossibly Bitchy Girl (IBG) from our team (this girl once cursed out two teams, a referee, and our own teammate in a single screaming session… totally sober) says to me “wait, are you guys DATING?”.

Important to note, I have said like 15 sentences to this girl throughout the season. Virtually no contact whatsoever.

I’m kind of shocked at the question, and reply “um, define ‘dating’”. She says “are you getting any?” I’m like “we’ve been out a couple times, and that’s not your business”. She goes “What the fuck, I thought we liked each other. I thought we were gonna hook up tonight, like that’s what’s been going on. Whatever. It’s fine. You can go to her. It’s fine.” 30 minutes later, she is in the corner of the bar, SCREAMING HER LUNGS OUT to one of her friends about something, while her friend is yelling at her to stop being ridiculous. It could’ve been about me… it could’ve been that her beer was poured incorrectly, I really don’t know. It’s just like, you really thought I would be interested in that?

Thanks - that’ll be my opener, felt about as heavy as it should at this point. I am feeling confident in my goals of 295/340/480 bench/squat/dead. Most scurred of deads at this point.

5/3/1 Meet Prep - 3 weeks out, day 2 (Bench)

Bench felt good today. Floor Presses are helping glute drive. I also actually talked with a couple random dudes in my gym for the first time in about 2yrs, which was cool/weird. Some guy was using paper towels as straps for DL and I offered him mine. He was so nice and… well if I go any further it sounds pretty homo.

Also, my room mate wants me to write him a lifting program and come to his gym and train with him some time next week… in the middle of my last semi-heavy training week before my meet. I somehow have to have my structured OHP day and hang out with him for a full body workout. Ugh, I shouldn’t try, but I’ll figure something out. Honestly if I believed he would stick to it for more than a month it wouldn’t bother me at all. He’s been telling me for 2 months he’s going to “finally order some protein tonight”.

His training goal is to “maybe put a little mass on my biceps or something like that”. I WILL MAKE HIM BULL STRONG.

Thanks! Yeah I chatted the guy up on my way out (their PL team is USAPL, same fed as my upcoming meet). They had one real strong dude’s totals on the wall, the rest of the team was around my strength level I’d say.
