Yes, with chains. I like 'em.
Try it and tell me what you think.[/quote]
The majority of my curls are done with chains. I’m a big fan of grenade ball chain curls. However, for the most part it’s because I hate curling and need to come up with gimmicks that will make me do it, similar to a parent making airplane noises to get their kids to eat vegetables.
However, chains feel great for curls. I like being able to feel the majority of the weight at the top of the contraction.
Proportionally - because I*m not a huge guy - I’ve always had decently sized biceps even though I can probably count on both hands the amount of times I’ve thrown curls into workouts over the last three years since I started lifting. Maybe I use my arms too much in the bench or other movements…
But my Monday is sorely lacking in assistance work and I can’t see curls fatiguing me to the point I can’t do my planned shit, so this thread has convinced me to adopt them seriously. Time to look like a retard as I try several different bars and weights and seated vs standing until I find my groove.
Chains on preachers sound like a good idea, especially with the benefit of deloading the bottom instead of just cutting the ROM short. In one of the Indigo videos, Thibaudeau was doing incline curls with just chains attached to a single handle (no dumbbell). Another thing I’ve been meaning to try.

I’m not sayin’ this video was titled with Push specifically in mind, I’m just sayin’…
