Me too

I really just did the smith move because I tried to do it on the prone leg curl machine but that machine… ARGH! It’s so complicated and I felt foolish, so the smith was my alternative.

Ah Maschy I missed you <3

a) Right back at cha
b) Thank you, I love the motivation
c) Have fun with it

Today my gym teacher appealed to the tomboy in me… ultimate frisbee.
An hour of that, SOMEHOW my HR got to 194 at the end of the game… apparently I got a little competitive.

So, frisbee tired me out so I just bullshited on the machines to pass time. Then some old cryptkeeper-looking dude who works out during our gym time pissed me off in class. He asked me “Oh did you break a nail” when I lazily got off one of the machines. So when he was huffing and puffing after finishing his set on a machine, I asked “Oh are you having a stroke?”

Strong women in the gym don’t break nails, we break egos

Haha imagine if the old bastard actually had a stroke.

awesome vid love the smith kickback move.
Also enjoyed the view while you got in position.

so nom.

ps shoulders lookin TIIIIITE girl

Those delts are ridiculous, Nikki!

And I’ve seen that smith machine move. It’s just always been too crowded in that area for me to take it up like that.

You said you’re Dominican, right?

Hallowed,

If you’re referring to the Gold’s I’m thinking of (pretty sure you are), that is a damn nice gym. Awesome environment and I think they have 9 power racks. But, I agree with you that convenience almost trumps everything else.

Nikki, you’re looking awesome. I’m going to have to try that Smith Machine butt thing, too.

Right now I work out at various 24 hour fitness in the campbell/West San Jose area. I’m moving closer to downtown Campbell on the 27th and am considering adding a Gold’s membership. There’s that one by Hamilton/San Thomas Expressway that I’ll be closer to now.

Aww thanks for the delts comments <3
Yes I’m part Dominican.

Did chest, shoulders and tris today

I walked to the gym today (an hour) but REALLY didn’t feel like having my ego shot down because I’ll be too weak to lift so I got a crispy chicken from Wendy’s. It worked too, got some good numbers

Bench
65 x 12
95 x 12, 10 x 2
The 95# sets were awesome, all of them were reps I’ve never gotten without a spotter, so it made me feel tough :stuck_out_tongue:

Incline Bench
65 x 12
85 x 6
75 x 8

Decline Flys
20 x 12 x 3

DB Pullover
35 x 12 x 3

Serratus front raise
5 x 12 x 3

Negative OH Press
40 x 8 each side
This was harder than I thought it’ll be, but I like new things.

Overhead DB Press
20s x 12
25s x 11 PR
25s x 10
Really didn’t expect a rep PR since my shoulders were pretty screwed, but I’ll take it, thank you

Cable Upright Row
20 x 12
30 x 12
35 x 12

DB Leaning side raises
10 x 15 x 3

Bent over cable raises
5 x 12 x 3

Facepulls
30 x 12
40 x 12
42.5 x 12

Tricep pushdowns
40 x 12
30 x 12 x 3

HS Iso Shoulder Press (sat backwards, chest on pad) SUPERSET bench dips with 45# plate on lap
20 x 12 / 12
30 x 10 / 12
20 x 12 / 12

Then walked back home, another hour.

crispy chicken huh? who wudda thunk it!

your full of good ideas…sitting backward on the shoulder machine…gotta try that too!

I love ultimate frisbee! When I play an intense game of dodgeball I can get my HR up in the high 190’s too. I usually average around 155-165 for a full game though. I’d rather do something like ultimate for cardio over running/cycling anyday.

Awesome work in the gym and good luck on the road to your first competition!

Lol I don’t usually eat 5 minutes before a workout but decided that I had no choice; either bad numbers or good ones.

Ultimate v. running… OF COURSE ULTIMATE! There’s no opponents to crush when running… I mean, yeah it’s great cardio.
Thanks for stopping by

nice benching toughie

Ultimate is awesome, even though I’m hand-eye coordination deficient. I used to be really into football back in the day. Now that you’ve reminded me, I think I’ll investigate the local powder puff establishment…

OH, and ur really hawt

Nice facepulls, do you use loose form on them? I know i do, i lean way back so i can get more weight on.

Nikki you dont know me but you aren’t trying nearly hard enough.
GET TO WORK AND WATCH YOUR DIET.

I won’t give faint praise.

BB

Great Benching girl.

Those before pictures are so hot. I’m already looking forward to your next set of progress pix.

I am very intrigued by the Smith machine move. It seems similar to one of the moves that Bret Contreras recommends (pendulum hip extension), but I never had the equipment to do it.

K-Man, chyea I have to lean back, can’t get that kind of weight on there like if I use 30# or something.

Thanks Kim, I feel like I made good progress since those pix so I’ll have some new ones on Friday.
Yep, that’s the idea behind the Smith move. I never had to do it before since my old gym had that machine but improv is good.

Big Bencher, first, I don’t care for praise. I’m just logging my work like everyone else. Second, I’m very interested to hear why you feel that way. Care to expand?

Did some intervals on the stairmill today. 2 minutes rest at 60 SPM, 2 minutes work, 1.5 minutes 90-120 SPM, then the last 30 seconds at 162 SPM. Did that for 30 minutes.

Im curious too!

cardio…I have to force more of that upon myself. I enjoy walking, but getting the heart rate up higher once or twice a week would be good too.

Gosh, I just assumed BB was attempting at sarcasm?
