I think mine are the 5.0…maybe the 7.0
They feel great for running and they haven’t seemed to wear out at all…funny because I’ve had them almost a whole year.
These are the one’s I have…I’m pretty sure they’re 5.0 Maybe they’re the 7.0
They’re comfortable and great for running…and the damn things don’t seem to wear out! I’ve had them close to a year, maybe even longer.
Here’s a pic:
Wearing a pair right now. I bought them because I read they help with flat feet by strengthening the feet. I had the intentions of wearing them running and lifting.
They have no lateral stability at all. It is uncomfortable to run or walk on anything but a flat flat surface. Me weighing 250 probably doesn’t help that at all.
That said, I find them very comfortable and could stand all day in them. I have never squatted in them, but lunges feel fine. I do not want to squat in them, as I think I might slide out of the sides of them.
I don’t think they help with flat feet like I was told on here, so I will use them for taking the dog for long walks, and as my nice clean shoes while out and about. I’m going to get a pair of motion control runners for running. I have a pair of old runners with no sole left so they’re practically flat for lifting.
They’re very airy and cool.
I have these except the check mark is black: Nike free 5 0 v4 white beet cool grey + FREE SHIPPING | Zappos.com
Oh, and I really mean the NO lateral support. There is no such thing as quick direction changes in these shoes. No sports whatsoever. And the road you run needs to be very flat.
I have the 3.0’s that came out a little bit ago, after wearing a pair of 7.0s for nearly 2 years. I fucking love them.
Unlike msd0060 they do help my flat feet, all the special shoes/insoles weren’t doing shit so I started walking around barefoot more and wearing my free’s out, and my feet feel amazing.
I could jog in them fine, but like msd0060 said, no real lateral support so I wouldn’t try to make any cuts of anything. Comfortable as hell though.
Your feet will get wet if you set in a small puddle though.

You lift in those bitches?
How wide are your feet? I’ve haven’t ever had a pair of nike’s that I didn’t blow out the sides.
For lifting and running.

For running.
And for all around (training, running, and aesthetics)

Three of the best shoes I have ever worn. The shoes all have different functions so you need to know what you’re getting into with buying them.
Thanks to everyone for their answers and input.
Much appreciated.
Yeah I got a pair. Don’t run in them, use regular cross trainers with cushioning for that. It helps absorb more force so your knees won’t get fucked. Also, if you are running, it might hurt a lot if you step on a pebble or something on a vulnerable part of the shoe. But, 5.0’s are great for lifting.
I like using them for anything except squats. Deadlifts are good because it is flat, but for squats I feel that I need more stability and support. That’s where my Olympic shoes come in handy.
Fuck. I was thought there were some free Nikes on here.

When i was little I couldn’t wear shoes like nikes or adidas because my feet were too wide.
The 7.0s were the cross trainer kinds, and there were ridiculously wide. My frees I have now are a little more narrow but still good to go. I don’t squat wide or anything, so they have been holding up for almost 3 months.
Nike Free’s are amazing to lift in, I love them. Even though my mom decided to throw my only pair out because they were getting “nasty”, that skank!
I have had two pairs of Nike Frees. They are awesome shoes. They hold up well and feel great to walk in. I have wide feet as well but have not had any issues with the Frees fit.

lol, yup same shit.
I remember the one and only pair of Jordan’s I ever had. I begged and pleaded, and had to pay for half of them myself. Wasn’t I pissed, and mom too when the sides blew out in like 3 weeks.
Unrelated note, Encore is showing the Rockey movies, fuck if I didn’t well up at the end of 2, and a tear actually rolled down my face when Mickey died. Fuck that is sad shit.
I wear them. They’re very comfortable and light. I’d like to get some Vibrams but these aren’t so easy to come by in the UK (you can get them mail order, but I really need to try those things on because I have funny-shaped feet). In the meantime, the Frees are a nice compromise.
i have some. theyre super durable. i ride a long board around campus and i wear some 5.0s while i do that. when i have to stop because some idiot looks at me then jumps in front of me, i have to drag my feet, but theres no wear on the bottom yet. and when i ride, my feet shift around in them a little but i havent punched through them yet.
i havent had any problem with doing squats in them either. and i have superiorly wide feet. like, my toes havent touched the front of my shoes since like the fifth grade. by contrast, i had some asics that i wore for cross country and i punched a hole through the sides of those.
i vote for getting some. cuz they feel good, theyre durable, and they look like sweet action.
I’ve been running in 5.0s (v3) for over two years now (2 pairs) and honestly wouldn’t trade it for any other shoe. I used to have chronic shin splints (very flat feet + over-pronation) during track in high school that kept me out of the sport for a long time each year.
When I got to college I started using the Frees for Army PT and haven’t had any problems since. I used to wear size 13s and now I’m down to an 11.5, my arches actually lifted but my over-pronation is still pretty bad. Keep in mind that I weigh 180, so my experience with them is probably different than the bigger guys chiming in on this thread.
I like them a lot for most gym lifts and deadlifts occasionally (like them better than Chucks sometimes), but for squatting I always use my Oly shoes.
Before you guys go buy a pair of free’s Look into Vibrams Five Finger KSO’s. I use to only wear free’s but now i absolutely fell in love with the fivefingers. While they look kinda funky the premise is based on the idea that you should use the muscles in your feet the way they were designed. Also, i use to have knee pain squatting and dead lifting until i started going barefoot, then my gym wouldn’t let me squat and dead in my socks anymore so i started wearing the KSO’s and its been life changing. Oh and its a pretty cool conversation starter.
