Nicholas Cage's Abs: CGI?

Professor X mentioned that it’s been rumored that Cage’s mirror scene had CGI added in to give him his extremely ripped look. I thought his body looked kind of off for some reason, but shrugged it off thinking it was just because I’m not used to seeing him like that. You could tell in his other scenes that he has at least hit the gym (mainly from his arms, the only thing you can see afterall).

What say you T-Nation: Hard Earned, or CGI Burned?

Now if only we could CGI real life!

I suspect they did a little post-production touch-up work, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he got pretty close to that condition on his own.

Cage is an action-movie star … a big part of his job is getting his body to look good on film. He’s always been in pretty good shape for most of his roles, but this is the first time I can recall him shaving off his body hair. That, and good lighting angles, can make a world of difference when you are used to seeing the dude sporting his man-fur.

It was actually only one critic I read who said that…among other things. He was ripped in ConAir. Like the poster above me wrote, I am sure he was mostly there and they probably just “polished” the look in post-production. It was clear he was pretty lean throughout the rest of the movie.

Saw Ghost Rider last night. The whole freaking theatre went “holy crap” when he did the mirror scent. I was impressed. Looked real to me. He’s got some decent guns as well. It was weird because his face looked to haggard in the movie, it was like the two didn’t match.
