Niacin

Any readers have experience about using niacin to enhance pump/vascularity? I understand you have to work up in doseage as the flushing effects can be quite uncomfortable.

I have used Niacin on the competetive bodybuilders that I have helped. I would have them ingest 500mg one hour prior to prejudging and another 250mg 15 - 20 minutes prior to walking on stage. The vascularity benefits are definitely temporary, but I have not seen or heard of an increased pump from Niacin. The flushing effect sucks, but if you want vascularity for a short time, Niacin will do the job. By the way, you might experience a loud ringing in you ears…it goes away.

I have used Niacin before shows and if seems to work moderately. The biggest problem is timing. You need to do a few trial runs in the last 2 weeks to see how long it takes you to have max effects, and even then its a bit difficult to project when you will be on stage. I would “preview” wine or anything else you might want to take for the same reason.

I take 3 gms of L Arginine with Ribose C 30 minutes before work out. It seems to help the pump during workout.

I recently switched multi-vitamins. Now I’m taking Twinlabs Maxilife capsules. Let me tell you–I’ve never experienced the flushes before, but now it happens every so often. It is very uncomfortable. Burning sensation throughout head, upper chest, and mid-arms. I have to drink tons of water with them.
