25 game suspension for Torres. Holy shnikeys. did not expect

To disappointed in the Wings to talk hockey. Predators played some great patient hockey, they were largely outplayed except when it counted.

My only consolation will be seeing the Penguins on the sidelines also.

Why not?

He has a history of this correct (I mean not his first suspension for a hit)?

It’s not like the NHL has any teeth anyway, remember Bertuzzi ended a guys career and was only sent packing for 20 games.

Raffi has a history and I like him as a player but unfortunetly he has to take the fall for the NHL to prove their point that they are serious.

I hope my Rangers do well tonight.

that’s bullshit, should have been a charging minor and on with the game, that hit was more “hockey” than a lot of other hits that have been let go. Next everyone will be wearing tutus and tampons

Why was that 25 games? Was not as bad as some of the stuff in the pens-flyers series? I really didnt think it was that bad, and I try to be as unbiased as possible. Repeat offender I guess?

Well my Stanley Cup pick is out, but the flyers deserved to win that series so good for them. Looking forward to watching Giroux for at least another round. He had 6 goals this series? He has been the most fun to watch in the playoffs.

yeah. Repeat offender indeed. Huge history of basically skating around and making big illegal hits away from the puck.

For this particular hit though I really didnt think it was very far away from the puck. I understand Shanahan is trying to police the game, but I am not sure what extent it should really be policed too…

It really was headhunting though, the way he leaped in the air there was no way the head contact was avoidable. This is exactly the kind of thing they are trying to eliminate. The suspension was excessive but he doesn’t seem to learn.

I guess in that sense I can see where Shanny was coming from. I still think the Neal hit on, I believe it was Schen, was a more malicious hit. I can see why they are trying to control those kinds of hits, head injuries are not cool. But, on the other hand its hockey!

Yotes have 2 goals on 9 shots against the hawks…2 goals…9 shots. Its in the third and Mike Smith looks like a monster. If Coyotes could find the offense they have the hot goalie to make a run.

blech

Mike Smith too good, simple as that.

I think the Preds showed it is more about opportunity and quality shots than quantity.

Its the nhl, if you are not getting quantity, I doubt you are getting quality very often. No one is gonna win a cup with 8 shots on goal through 2. However, it will be an interesting series between those 2 teams. I would love to see smith outplay Rinne.

three game 7’s in series 1… :D:D

The Wings massively outshot the Preds and they are the ones sitting. Between Rinne stonewalling them, being kept to the perimeter by an awesome defense and defensive miscues by the Wings that is all it took. You only need to look to the mid 90’s Devils for examples of winning through tough defense, quality goaltending and fortuitous goals.

I don’t mean to imply that either of these teams will win it all, but it has been a pretty wild season so far.

Apologies for abandoning this thread.

The Penguins started winning when I gave myself a four-game suspension for arguing with Flyers fans on the internet.

See, damnit! One post and, poof, gone.

Rinne for husband!

What.
