Yotes have 2 goals on 9 shots against the hawks…2 goals…9 shots. Its in the third and Mike Smith looks like a monster. If Coyotes could find the offense they have the hot goalie to make a run.
I think the Preds showed it is more about opportunity and quality shots than quantity.

Its the nhl, if you are not getting quantity, I doubt you are getting quality very often. No one is gonna win a cup with 8 shots on goal through 2. However, it will be an interesting series between those 2 teams. I would love to see smith outplay Rinne.
The Wings massively outshot the Preds and they are the ones sitting. Between Rinne stonewalling them, being kept to the perimeter by an awesome defense and defensive miscues by the Wings that is all it took. You only need to look to the mid 90’s Devils for examples of winning through tough defense, quality goaltending and fortuitous goals.
I don’t mean to imply that either of these teams will win it all, but it has been a pretty wild season so far.
I simply think that the coyotes need more shots to be a threat. 8 shots through two periods isnt going to cut it against Nashville. Capitalizing on golden opportunities is a huge reason both teams are through, but in general a high shot total is important in the playoffs. Especially when you have goalies playing like Smith and Rinne are.
Definitely going to be a fun series, I anticipate many more overtimes for these two.

Hockey champ, how’d someone from Ohio end up a Bruins fan?
I only go to school here. Was raised to bleed blue and green in the Farmington Valley. Divorce, moving, and shit, and UConn being assholes to me made me want to get away for college.
Bruins didn’t deserve to win that series. Thomas didn’t play well enough when it counted, and the forwards needed a fucking map to the back of the net in most of these games. Credit to Segin on the game tying goal tonight though, showed more grit in one play than Phil Kessel has shown his whole life.
At least with the bruins eliminated, I’ll be able to get good grades on my finals next week.
The league is praying right now that new jersey and new york win their game 7’s just so people will watch the games. How lame will a Florida vs. Phoenix cup final be?

In hindsight NJ did win, but are there actually any Devils fans? I saw empty seats at their games. They cant even sellout in the playoffs… Its sad hockey hasnt been more accepted, its such a superior game to baseball/basketball.
