If Chicago or LA win it again this year (very possible) I think we can legitimately use the term “dynasty” to describe them. That term hasn’t really applied to any NHL team in the last 20 years or so. Also, this seems to be shaping up to be a great year for a rebuilding team to engage in a fire sale and stock up on draft picks as it looks like this could be the deepest and most highly talented draft class since 2003.

The wings won cups in 97,98,02 and 08 and were contenders most other years and they weren’t considered a dynasty, so no.
My Bruins are looking to have another strong year, and Patrice Bergeron may be the best hockey player that never gets included in the best hockey player discussions.

I’ve only got an ECHL team around here. South Carolina Stingrays which are affiliates of the Capitals and Bruins. Think it’s AA league. Still fun to watch.
I’ve only attended 1 NHL game back in the 90’s so I’m going to try to catch a Hurricanes game. Are they any good? I defer to the experts.

They have not made the playoffs recently, but they are a team playing in the NHL, so you are going to see some great hockey if you go to their game.
I think there is more competitive parity in the NHL than any other major sports league. You’ll get a good show. I imagine the ticket prices are pretty reasonable (unlike Bruins tickets, for instance).

A client of mine gave me some Predators tickets a few years ago and I have to say that the overall experience was far superior to that of the Boston Garden.
In a hockey town like Boston, the game sells itself. You are watching the Bruins play at the Garden. That is more than enough to pack the house night-in, night-out. They do stuff during intermission, but nothing compelling enough to keep me in my seat.
In a place like Nashville where hockey culture is relatively new, they definitely pulled out more stops to make it a real spectacle. Great entertainment during intermissions and they basically throw a party out front before the game starts with a lot of cool stuff for kids and adults (and like $3 beers too!). We really had a great time at the Predators game.
I would not be surprised if a Hurricanes game is like that too. It won’t be dull, that’s for sure.

I don’t know their record of late but just having the Staal brothers should be worth the price of admission. Any NHL team should be fun to watch.

Yup. While these teams are exceptionally strong, they aren’t Montreal in the '70s.
I do feel like Detroit is unfairly left out of the dynasty conversation. But that term seems so basketball anyway.

Loved it. I do miss Thorty though as he could play as well as fight, but we’ll see what Bobby does. Tuukka is still solid as ever which is awesome.
I think NHL Gamecenter Live let’s you watch games although it does cost $.
