I think Sanchize is better than last year, and I think people are under rating their D drastically.

Assuming Brady stays healthy they won’t beat the Pats, no. But I’m not going to sit here and crown a champ or call a chump based on paper.

All I’m saying is I don’t buy the narrative they are this horrid abomination of a team everyone likes to call them.
You think Sanchez is better than last year? No sarcasm, WHY?

He’s been benched more than once, has 62 games under his belt, and for his career he has one more interception than touchdown. His highest pass rating was 78.2, and that came in the 2011 season. In 1,867 pass attempts, he has shown that at best, he is a backup QB if that. His single season completion percentage has never above 56.7%.

He isn’t just bad, he is horrible. Sanchez has been given more opportunities in the past four season, by far, than any other QB with the same performance probably in the last 10 years.

No one is calling the Jets chumps based on paper. They are calling the Jets chumps based on their performance, or lack thereof in the last two season and horrible QB play in the last four seasons.

Their defense? Probably slightly underated at this stage based on how often they were on the field last season, but the only person who is defining them based on “paper” is yourself with bloated expectations (of which no one else has seen this “paper”).

I mean nothing against you personally, but surely what factual evidence can you provide that the Jets will even begin to compete for a wild card spot this year?
Weren’t they in the playoffs like 2 years ago?

Espn agrees with you anyway.

The Steelers are paralyzed by their cap situaiton (which won’t last but another year or two) and the Ravens had to lose a lot of talent to pay Flacco… The North is ripe for the taking.

You might be right, the Ravens have a tough schedule. The North is a tough division though. Don’t sleep on the Browns either…

lol, yes, 2 AFC Championship games, in a row, is horrid QB play.

Please with this shit. This isn’t baseball, numbers in stat columns don’t win rings. I could give two damn about his stats. Look at Marino… All those pretty numbers lead to naked fingers…

The kid is a manager, he isn’t going to carry a team to a ring. That said all he needs is the right role players around him, plays called that work towards what he can do, and a D that can hold his own, and they can sneak in the playoffs in a relatively weak division who beat up more on each other than the rest of the league.

Anyway I get it, you don’t think the Jets are going to be any good. Fine. But get off my nuts with the “scientific evidence” bullshit to back up my opinion. Good god.

No-no dude, you need to sleep on the browns, because like stats and shit homie…

They were a handful of plays away from the superbowl two years in a row, with what I’m being told is a back-up QB…

Ya that’s what I thought…

So, the past two season, the Jets have not made the playoffs. They?ve also lost the best player on their team (Revis). What does the 2009 and 2010 season have to do with now?

During the 2009 season, the Jets had the best defense and best running game in the league.

During the 2010 season, the Jets ranked 6th in defense and 4th in rushing.

If you don?t think an elite defense and running game propelled them into the AFC Championship game, I don?t know what to tell you. Sanchez was up and down in the playoffs. In fact, before the AFC championship games in 2009 and 2010, Sanchez played extremely poor (60.1 and 62.4 passer rating, respectively. With passing performances that horrific before the AFC Championship games, don?t you think the reason they advanced was the defense and running game?

Elite, great, and good quarterbacks have bad days. That?s what a defense and running game is there for. However, Sanchez has had far more bad days than good days. His passer rating reflects that.

So, we can sit here and reflect on the 2009 and 2010 seasons when the Jets had elite defenses and running games, or we can sit and reflect on the previous two seasons which are far more accurate when predicting the current state of the Jets.

This is the issue with Sanchez. If He has to win the game he will never win. He needs an incredible defense and roll player around him. Any team that plays the Jets has to get a lead, stop the run, and force Sanchez to pass the ball on every down. This is how you beat the Jets.

Just look at Sanchez’ face. He has lost his ability to play. It is all in his head now. He needs a big come from behind game on his shoulders to change his ability to play.

I’m not big on the Browns because past Richardson, I think their offense is pretty bad.

Reaching in the draft for a QB last year who will turn 30 this year wasn’t a good idea either.

You’re a riot lol. You just want to chant J-E-T-S! without providing any sort of reasonable explanation as to why you think the Jets will do good next year.

You’re the epitome of a fanboy. You scoff at reason and statistics while drinking the koolaid.

You should hang around this thread more, like going back the multiple seasons we’ve been shooting the shit in it.

You’ll be surprised to see, that I’m not the one with egg on my face after that last post of yours.

I don’t think the Browns will make the playoffs anytime soon, the North is too strong. Their defense is pretty good though and they play teams tough. They were 5/11 I think, at least 4 of those lossed were in the division and they only won 1 road game. They’ve got potential and so does Weeden I think.

All you’ve shown is ineptitude. Thanks for playing.

I long for the days when this thread was a good time with people shooting the shit and busting each other’s balls.

Not a pissing contest or measure of e-penis.

DJ, what happened?

I’d take the dude with the purple avatar back over having to prove my bold predictions with some sort of scientific study in the god damn football thread.

Liked what I’ve seen from Weeden thus far (ie. don’t forget, his wideouts betrayed him on multiple well-thrown deep balls last year)
