All I have to say is this;Vikings are going all the way.

Urm . . . you need two more teams (one NFC, one AFC).

Also, Broncos for the AFC West? Are you serious? The Chargers are playing like ass, no doubt, but the Broncos have gotten to 4-0 on an unbelievably SOFT four-game schedule (not to mention a great deal of luck against Cincinnati). Fasten your seat belts, because things are about to get rough for them. I predict the Broncos will finish 8-8. The Chargers will finish 9-7 or 10-6 and win the division.

It certainly has that feel, doesn’t it? They are definitely my pick in the NFC; they are a more complete team than either the Saints or the Eagles. For some reason, I still can’t take the Giants seriously. I still believe they are overrated.

Last night was pretty disappointing, as a Packers fan.

Last year, I had originally thought Aaron Rodger’s inability to finish a game was the problem. I was wrong.

That offensive line is absolutely atrocious. 8 fucking sacks… CANNOT happen. Ever. That’s like video game shit right there.

And, though you can’t put the outcome of a game on one play usually, that blown “pass interference” call on Chuck Woodson last night when he intercepted the ball in the Red Zone was a pretty bad call.

Actually, now that I think of it, did the Vikings even have one penalty last night?

Anyway, I was not impressed with Favre or the Viking’s offense (as usual.) We put no pressure on him. With all the time he had to throw, fucking Cleo Lemon could have passed on our defense.

One take-away positive for me, though, was that we finally stopped AD in his tracks. That was nice. And it’s also nice to see Donald Driver, a real class act, set the Packers record for receptions.

Hahahaha.

October 18th and January 1st are just two normal weeks for the Giants. The Saints already got shutdown by a good defense, no Giant fan is afraid of them, even at home.

The only thing preventing me from predicting a blowout in Minnesota is that the Giants will already have the #1 seed locked up and wont have their starters on the field for all 4 quarters. And yes I am implying that if the Giants have their starters healthy and on the field for 4 quarters they can contain AP and knock Favre on his ass every other pass play.

That PI call wouldn’t have mattered anyway since there was also a flag for offsides on the same play. Either way the INT doesn’t hold up.

The Packers are just a sloppy, penalty-getting team. It’s been that way since McCarthy took over. There’s no discipline and that leads to penalties. And that in turn leads to more penalties because the refs know they’re undisciplined and sloppy and thus will be looking for the penalties.

And I still don’t completely trust Rodgers. Some of those sacks were completely his fault. I keep hearing from the media, including last year, how good he is and the losses aren’t his fault. He seems to be the only quarterback that doesn’t get blamed for his losses. On most teams, it’s the other way around – the QB takes more than his share of the blame for the team’s failures. Regardless of blame, at some point you just have to win and start making your teammates better.

That being said, he’s getting no help on the field. Penalties, dropped passes, and the offensive line are just killing the Packers. I mean, as poorly as things went last night, if Donald Lee doesn’t drop that touchdown, that’s the seven-point difference in the game.

The coaching staff has some serious work to do over the next couple weeks with their bye. McCarthy has to fix the O-line and decrease penalties. And Dom Capers needs to do soemthing with this 3-4. The pressure’s just not there – 7 1/2 seconds to throw the ball? Really?! – and the coverage isn’t there either. Kampman looks lost in coverage and just isn’t getting the pressure from the linebakcer position.

It’s all very frustrating to me, because I wasn’t expecting much from this season. They went 6-10 last year and very little changed over the off season. Then the preseason games came and the looked unstoppable on both sides of the ball. I kept telling myself it was only preseason, but by the start of the season, I let the media and the hype suck me in. I started to believe this team could be great.

Yeah…the 3-4 just doesn’t seem to fit them. Kampman is better suited as down lineman. How can you have your best pass-rusher out in coverage when he should be rushing the passer?

Me too man. Hopefully the Ravens can pull it out this year. Should be a great series

BTW dude, your avatar is fuckin amazing haha. To me it look like a leprechaun to me LOL

Wow, I couldn’t agree more with just about everything you just said.

I was irate with Rodgers MUCH of last year. He did, in fact, single-handedly blow a good 3-4 games with failed last-minute drives that he should have completed. Hell, even against the Bengals this year… 1st and 10 on their 10? Come on, you need to score.

Everyone would throw out that “He had 4,000 yards passing!” Well sure, because Grant isn’t productive anymore (never had faith in him, let alone enough to warrant a HOLD OUT!) and their defense has been shit. In Week 1, against the Bears, we were getting hellacious pressure on Cutler through huge zone blitzes and aggressive playcalling. Where was that last night?

I know we have to respect the run, but come on. Dom Capers has been around for a while, and should know better. Hell, at one point, the Vikes just stopped trying to run.

And your comment about McCarthy and the lack of discipline is spot on. They just, overall, look like a decent team, but one that could play at a very high level if got back to fundamental football.

I stopped counting how many arm tackles I’ve seen this season. From seasoned veterans, too!

I don’t know what the solution is, but I truly hope they get things back on track this year… because I fully believe if they played like they did last night, they can and WILL lose to the Lions in Detroit, among many other games.

I forgot about Grant’s holdout. What a joke.

At the same, I think he’s a decent starting back. The offensive line is just awful. Jim Brown wouldn’t gain yards with this line.

Imagine if Green Bay had a run game and a o-line. Rogers played lights out last night but he can only do so much. Harris isn’t as good off the ball and gets beat easily. With all the penalites and turnovers, the packers easily could have won last night. The int and fumble were near the viking 20 yard line. And then being stopped at the one.

What a hell of a game for Brett Favre and Minnesota tonight. And GOOD FOR HIM!

Damn, Minnesota’s got some awesome defense right now too. 7 sacks tonight! Jared Allen is a fuckin beast.

I grew up in Chicago, and as such, was definitely not a Green Bay fan, but always admired the passion Brett Favre has had for what he does. And those fuckers did him wrong. I was so happy to see this game tonight. They made a fan out of me.

So how exactly did Green Bay do Favre wrong? He retired, they moved on. Then he tries to come back last minute?

Ahahahaha!!! The Jets as the AFC East Divisional Champs. That’s a good one.

By (1) forcing him to retire a bit earlier than he wanted and (2) not granting him an unconditional release. I believe that Favre was back and forth on retiring, but the Packers brass put a little extra pressure on him to do it. Then he retires and realizes he made a mistake and wants to come back. I have absolutely no problem with the Packers deciding to go in a different direction; that is their prerogative. But instead of treating him with respect and letting both parties go their separate ways, the Packers limited Favre’s options. THAT was a dick move. You just don’t treat a man of that importance to your franchise like that. That is where I lost respect for Favre.

Also, as tiring as the back and forth with Brett is, you have to keep in mind that he did not invite the media attention to the issue. It’s easy to think that Favre like the attention and does the back and forth to draw it. I think this is a man that is genuinely struggling with feeling a little worn out but still has the desire to play. He is having to deal with that in the public eye. It’s not his fault that the whole country is watching the drama unfold on ESPN. Didn’t Junior Seau do the same thing more or less?

Yeah, I don’t know. I really feel like the Giants are overrated and overachieving. You’ve played four pretty atrocious teams and narrowly beat three of them. The Giants have to have one of the softest schedules in the league, so they’ll probably do well record-wise. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see them get bounced out early in the playoffs.

In the interest of full disclosure, though, I have to say that part of my feeling about the Giants is based on the fact that I really don’t care for Eli Manning. I am still dumbfounded by the fact that that slack-jawed, mouth-breather of a motherfucker is (a) related to Payton Manning, who I love, and (b) a Super Bowl champion. Makes me wanna puke.

In my opinion, no matter who wins in the NFC, the AFC will win. They have been owning the Super Bowls since Elway in 1998.

The Giants play down to their competition. I don’t really have an explanation for it but as someone who has watched every game Eli has started, the four games this season haven’t been close except the Dallas game. The scores may have been close but the Giants have a bad habit of allowing late, meaningless touchdowns. Eli is an above average quarterback for most of the game and somehow becomes the best 2 minute/final drive QB in the game. He’s 41-23 as a starter. The guy can win games plain and simple. Everyone gets a little lucky at some point.

It hurts to say this, Im a Seahawks fan. I know I know. I have had seasons ticks for the last 5 years.

They stink

Super Bowl champs from 2000 on:

2000- Ravens AFC
2001- Patriots AFC
2002- Bucs NFC
2003- Patriots AFC
2004- Patriots AFC
2005- Steelers AFC
2006- Colts AFC
2007- Giants NFC
2008- Steelers AFC

AFC has owned since 2000. NFC gets a few championships, but AFC all the way.
