Are you serious? And “no want/desire to even play” and you even said so that the Raven’s played smash mouth right off the bat. Rice hit a home run on the first play of the game followed by a turnover from Brady’s blindside. The Ravens were on the fortunate side early and continued to roll and indeed played smash mouth. But to say no one from New England cared or gave a shit is ridiculous. Unlike the Packers in their own early struggle, the Patriots never caught a break and got that momentum swing (Woodson stripping Fitz). No one on any team in the league from owner to punter is OK with losing especially in the fashion that the Patriots lost Sunday.
Dude,

a) I was exaggerating to a degree
b) Did you even watch the game? I mean if you can tell me with a straight face that the Pats had the same fire last Sunday as in years past, you sir are lying to yourself.
c) You obviously didn’t hear Bob Craft’s interview yesterday…
d) You sound like the pink hat, blind worshipers that live in Boston. Did you move recently?

They looked like shit, played like shit, and had zero fire, zero drive, and zero heart. The ravens played like Champs, and the Pats looked like Chumps. But don’t worry they will hang another stupid fucking banner about being a 3 seed, just like the 16-0 curse banner.
I did not move to Boston. I did not attend the game. I did watch the game. I did miss Craft’s interview however, you posted that original message before the interview so… Also with a MAN like Ray Lewis in your locker room you’re always going to have the edge regarding a “hit 'em in the mouth attitude”. But these people are professionals. Did the Patriots look like “chumps” yea I agree they sure did but this was after a score on the games first play and turnovers on consecutive drives. This would leave most teams feeling out of rhythm and vulnerable. But they didn’t come out of the tunnel feeling like chumps thinking ah here we go…too bad for these pink hats who paid to be here…we’re feeling a little flat and out of it today. And the way you approach a game changes greatly after Rice’s home run. After that the offense enters the field not with an “alright let’s hit 'em in the face” mentality but rather “defense gave up a big play now let’s even things up”. Definitely not the same team in years past but I don’t feel they lacked desire coming out of the gate.

I thought he played last week? He had the sack and fumble on Brady.
This is correct.

I meant against the Colts, I don’t think he was in the lineup the first time they played this year. Correct me if I am wrong.

ahhh… You certainly watched a different game than I did then. Or maybe the fact I been watching this team since before you had pubic hair taints the way I see a group of guys going through the motions.

This game was par for the course this year. Everyone on earth knew they were handing the ball to Rice on that play.

Whatever, you can rah rah rah for your heros all you want. They played like shit, and had zero fucking heart. It isn’t a debate.

If the Jets come to play, the Chargers could end up looking like New England last week if they aren’t careful.

This is gonna be a great weekend of football.
The Chargers will not look anything like the Pats last week. The offense is 100% healthy and ready to go. If anything it will be a tight game.
Determining factor to the Jets v SD game is Sanchez. Will he light it up for his hometown or will he choke being in front of his hometown?

One small advantage for the Jets I saw last night is the OC of SD is Cam Cameron and he was in Balt. when Rex was. Rex’s def. went up against that offense every day. Granted Blat didn’t have Rivers, LT, Gates or Sproles. I think the Jets will hang in there if they can get through the 1st qtr without having to play catch up.
What are you talking about? Cam Cameron hasn’t been the OC of the Chargers since Shotty was the head coach. The offense is completely different as they use to be a power running team.

Yes. Every match up is great.

I would hate to see any of these teams lose, but here are my picks:

Cardinals over the Saints
Vikings over the Cowboys
Chargers over the Jets (Love both of these teams and cannot wait to see this game)
Ravens over the Colts
Obviously I like your prediction on the Vikes vs. Boys matchup. What is it that you like about the guys in purple, having given them the nod?

One more thing:
natem wrote:

So I was right. His interview confirmed what I said in my post.

The only issue I have with that attitude is those fans payed a lot of fucking money to go to those games. So much so, Craft has priced out most true fans for “pink hats” that can actually afford to go to a game. So when they win the crowd is silent and the games suck, and most times when they lose everyone just leaves in the 3rd.

That stadium blows for seeing games now. There are like 10,000 actual fans and the other 40,000 are there for the other team or to get drunk and say they were there.

I know it is “cool” for everyone to hate the teams that win consistently, but there is no reason for someone to “love” that ANY team played so poorly that the people that dropped close to $300 during these economic times to go enjoy a game are so frustrated that they boo the entire game.
Yes, there is a reason…I don’t like some of the players on that team and I don’t like the coach. That’s why I loved it. You may feel thats a d-bag attitude but I can’t help myself. If you were a Steeler fan like myself you would understand lol.

What you say about the fans I couldn’t agree more with you. I feel bad for the fans for all the reasons you listed. I’ve been to a bunch of games over the years myself. I can never get good seats but when I go to a game there is all these “corporate” seats empty, WTF?
I guess I’m just insulted as someone who enjoys the game, that an organization actually thinks it is acceptable to play like they did on Sunday, in the fucking playoffs, at home.

It was a slap in the face to the fans of the team, and to fans around the league. They looked like shit, played like shit and acted like shitty little teenagers who were being told no. There was no fire, no desire, no want to even play. I would put money on the fact the towel boy even did a shitty job yesterday. The entire organization STARTING with the douchebag coach on, fucking sucked yesterday, and every fan in the stands should get a refund for the $6.50 they paid for a hot chocolate based on how shitty that “team” played yesterday. (Not to take away from the Ravens, who played great fucking smash mouth football.)

Agreed, they got caught early, the Ravens did NOT let up and the Patriots could not get back into it. Both brady and moss are injured and the Ravens secondary was lights out. No one on that field or organization “gave up”. The Ravens earned it and it is not the Pats season. Don’t be shocked if the Ravens do the Colts this way

It is a debate man…you have an opinion as do I and they happen to differ which leads to a debate. I’m not a Patriots fan but I have followed Moss since his departure from MN. And I have enjoyed watching the fashion in which the Pats win i.e. 40+ to 7 and still scoring and converting 4th downs in the 4th quarter so I realize they didn’t match the play of previous Patriot teams. And no one including me is saying they played well I just don’t believe that at kickoff they had no heart. Following the opening drives you’re right they didn’t rally around anyone or any play to make a comeback and display any heart. But pregame and kickoff there was “fire in the belly” the Ravens just knocked the fire out early and often immediately after.

You take the last word though and I’ll leave it at that.
PS to other readers: I read the thread about “words men shouldn’t use” and belly was there but forgive me it’s part of the phrase

Experience. They have a veteran presence at the helm, and I think Favre’s experience in the playoffs could be the deciding factor between two very good teams.

Romo showed great poise in his win last week, but too many times he has cracked under the pressure (see hold in playoff game versus Seattle Seahawks).

I think that this will be a great game, but I like the Vikings running game, passing game, and secondary play better than the Cowbows. I give the nod to the Cowboys in linebacker play, and think that defensive line is pretty much a toss up.

Givin’ the nod to Vikes’ secondary? This is what worries me as a MN fan. Hopefully your prediction stands and puts my worries at ease.

I agree with this…look i argue they “gave up” but they played badly and for sure could have stepped up more. Julian Edlemann played his ASS off. Too bad not everyone else did. AS a fan for 30 years I was sure as hell disapointed and fucking angry. I went to a bar after the game, and Giant’s and Colt’s and Steelers fan wanted to take their cheap shot there…one look in my eyes and about 5 dudes left. I was that pissed and frustrated. I am not a “superbowl every year patsie” I knew this wasn’t our season and the Ravens earned it. They have a shot at Indy, or at least their defense does. Flacco’s not gunna scare anyone. FYI- said Giant’s fan is the same douche who was there when i watched the 2007 superbowl , congratulated on his victory and shook his hand. I do not understand the vitriolic hatred for New England and the celebration of every misfortune and misstep

They would have had to come ready to play to give up. This team lost it’s heart after the blown 4th down in Indy.

EDIT: out side of the couple guys who played hard, edleman, faulk etc…

My eagles got teared into shreds. We need our O-line to be healthy and stay healthy. We need a better D-line, need to fix linebacking situation, and for gods sake you know you can’t leave the WHOLE game on McNabbs shoulders… WE NEED A POWER RUNNING GAME! Trade vick for some high draft picks and please get us a strong power runner like beanie wells or something.

A buddy of mine just mailed me this. He said they are selling like hotcakes in Balt.

Okay just to argue the point. Dallas has better rushing stats, passing and total offense. Now Minessota has a better over all defense, rushing and passing. Now Favre is the X factor in my opinion he has done amazing things in big games, but he has also had games with multi picks and game lossing picks. Yes Romo has cracked in the past, but he hasn’t done that this year. And as the past has shown the hot team does better in the post season.

Boys all I know is that we better be ready for some FootBAAALL.

Can’t wait…

Sorry, buddy, but I don’t think Vick will net you any (much less “some”) high draft picks. There might be a team out there willing to give you a fourth rounder (maybe… MAYBE a third). But he just didn’t show enough to merit trading a good pick for him.

But I’ve been wrong before…

Jets went from 50:1 down to 18:1 in winning the SB. I hope we punch this clowns face in. Destroy him!

Feel your pain live, we got destroyed. agree with the o line. d line and backers, but i think we have what we need in place for the running game. the problem there is not with the players, its with our god damn coaching staff never fully committing to a running game. mccoy looks good, and i love weaver. much rather throw money at a true legit middle linebacker next year, that would be my number one position to fill personally, but right side of the o linewoould come a close second. and i guess most of the d line as well. shit.
