I don’t like any teams going undefeated. I hope they both lose soon.
colts lose to the Jags. NO goes 16-0.
Bet $200 and several other things in March that the Saints would go 19-0 and win the Superbowl.
Go Skins? haha

All I know is that Darren Sharper put the fucking wood to Faulk Monday night.
Then a couple series later Faulk geve it right back.
Man I G-darn love football.
I think Saints go 17-0, then lost to the Vikings in the NFC championship. Well, I don’t know about that, but I think the Vikings are the team most likely to beat the Saints this year. The Vikings have the best combination of offense (to keep up with the Saints) and defense (to pressure Brees, which is what you have to do - without blitzing).
Minnesota is 19th in the league in pass defense. They’re not stopping Brees.
I love that Brees is barely 6 feet tall and is able to do what he does. Deadly accurate and plenty mobile for Paytons’ scheme. It’s the perfect storm, and a helluva lot of fun to watch.
Haha, Brees’s mobility is what resulted in him getting kicked out of San Diego.

What? I thought it more to do with his shoulder surgery and Rivers sitting on the bench.

X2. Seems to have worked out well for both teams.

They may be 19th vs the pass, but also figure in how poorly teams are running against them (2nd best rush defense in the league). Thus, teams are abandoning the run for the pass, nearly from the start of games. This inflates passing yardage numbers. Also note that MN’s pass defense has been improving throughout the season, and has been without arguably its best player in Antione Winfield for the past 4-5 weeks.
As long as Kurt Warner plays this weekend, it should be a good indicator of where MN’s pass defense is (though I’ll readily admit that NO’s pass offense is better than AZ’s).
Depending on Matt Ryan’s foot, I think at Atlanta will be a tougher game than Dallas at home.
I was at the Pat’s game, and it got a little loud in there. I don’t think that Romo and Phillips can gonna go in there with the pressure of December meltdowns and not get rattled. It will be just as loud, if not louder, on a Saturday night.
IMO, right now on a neutral field, the Vikes and Saints are a push. Either will win at home.

That seems like an intelligent argument until you go look at the numbers. They’re only 12th highest on Pass Attempts Against, vs 14th highest yards allowed, that’s not much of a disparity. 24th in completion percentage against, 19th in yards/attempt average, exactly in line with their “overall” pass defense rating. So yes, their run defense plays into it because they have indeed faced the fewest runs in the league, but their pass defense really seems to be all or nothing sack the QB or give up a decent play.

Excellent argument. Well done! Maybe I’ll just concede that there’s the area of the game where they really need to keep improving. I wonder how much of their recent improvement is due to weak opponents and how much is due to actually improvement.
Like I said before, it’ll be fun to see how they fare at Arizona.

Interestingly enough, despite just helping the NO guy with his argument, I do believe the Vikings will send them to 17-1 in the NFC championship game, they may not have the most stout pass defense but he’s overlooking how big a portion of NO’s offenses comes from the running game this year, and they won’t get shit on the Williams’ twins. It should be a fucking fantastic game though either way.

I respect the true fans. But I’ve yet to meet one. I only meet people who pick Dallas because of their flashy uniforms, stylish attitude, and cheerleaders.
If I were to ask a “Cowboys fan” who Troy Hambrick was, they wouldn’t even know.

I was born in Arlington, TX. Cowboy fan since birth. Been through the ups and the many downs. Hate the obnoxious fake D fans as much as any other person. Troy was a paltry RB, early 2000’s or something. Better known for run-ins with law (i think he had some DA and maybe drug charges, to lazy to look it up, but I know he was kicked out of SC for trouble all the way back in college). His brother Darren also played for Cowboys, inside LB, early 2k’s also. Those are not the ones I think about when I think of the Boys in fondness. True D fans go as early back as the early - mid 90’s with our dream team of Aikman, Irving, and Mr. Emmitt Smith. Let us go beyond that to Staubach, Dorsett, Randy White and Harvey Martin MVP’s of Super Bowl 7, Herschel Walker, CB Kevin Smith, Safety Darren Woodson. I could go on. One dark spot in my personal history is the purchase by Jones in 88 when he fired Tex and Tom. Although it did lead to Jimmy Johnson, but then Jones ran him off to. So yeah don’t hate the Cowboys, dislike Jerry Jones.
Super Bowl XXX was fun though wasn’t it Steelers fans?
Now as a true fan I can also criticize the shit out of them. The phenomenon of starting strong and choking at the end of the season is not new to the 00 classes. They have been doing that since the 60’s. However, we do have five rings. Only the Steelers have one more than us. And by the way we do lead the NFC East now. Thank you Giant fans.
I am not old enough to have personally experienced the boys before the 90’s, but I am a true fan and like any true fan of any team or sport you watch clips, you read the histories, you follow the players, coaches and personnel on and off the field. I do not get upset when people call us D fans any kind of name, or make fun of the fact that I am a fan. Because a true fan is there whether you are 16-0, or 0-16.
And Wol you are still good in my book because your posts are funny as shit.
EDIT I typed this without reading the entire thread. I was on page one, saw Wol’s rant and had to say something. So if someone else answered his question of who Troy was, sorry about the repost. Had to defend my team.

Well put. But have only one question for you?
How bout them Panthers?
Best line of tonight’s game (Jets/Bills) after the first Buffalo TD.
Analyzing the blocking that led to the touchdown:
“Every guy on a guy, a get yourself into the hole.”
