NFL 2012/2013 Part 3

And all at once, all was right with the world.

Hey, what can I say? I’m pissed off that they lost. They were the better team, but just not that day. People can say all they want and ridicule me all they want for taking it hard, although not nearly as hard as they think I am taking it.

I don’t care if it upset me at all. Like I said, at least I can admit when a loss gets to me, which this one surely did. And yes, all my ranting and raving in the previous post was sour grapes and all that shit, but again, so what? I admit it, I take solace in the 49ers glorious, unparalleled past and their very, very bright future because the present absolutely sucks.

But like I said, that just goes to show what kind of fans the 49ers have spawned after an unprecedented 20-year run of success in the NFL. Second place is First Loser as far as I’m concerned. You dumb fucking Seagulls’ fans have no real memories to look back in moments like these, nor do the Falcons. And while the future of both teams is bright, it simply isn’t anywhere near as bright as the 49ers’ future.

Of the three teams, they have the best coaching staff, the best QB, the best group of linebackers, they’re younger than both teams across the board, they have the most picks in the draft this year, will probably get a first-round pick for Alex Smith (based on the return of similar QBs who have been traded in the last 5-7 years) and they’re moving into a brand new stadium after next season after playing in the most historic NFL stadium still standing today.

So fuck everybody on this site who wasn’t rooting for the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Other than his team, the Niners were heads and shoulders above the entire NFL and are already the odds-on favorites to win it all next year.
And yet the Rams were head and shoulders above the 49’ers (1-0-1) this season. Not for nothing.

Hmmm, this may well be true. Kaepernick def showed a lot in this SB, that 2nd-half throw down the sideline (the one that hit Vernon Davis in the hands) was superwow.

The question now becomes whether he can continue to ‘up’ his game in response to the schemes that def-coordinators will throw at him now that they’ve got film to study. We saw Newton (and countless others) struggle with this next step.

Unrelatedly, mucho congrats on the new gig, DB.

He said he’s going down to Florida to start offseason training later this week or this coming weekend. Clearly he has the work ethic to get better. He has all the physical tools to benefit from his hard work and the brains to put the whole package together.

I’ll tell you guys what. I know it’s way down the line and will be tough to remember this far down the road, but if Kaepernick’s QBR is lower than Matt Ryan’s in 2013 I’ll sport a Matt Ryan avatar for the rest of my time on this website.

Thanks for the congratulations.

Well, anyways, apparently Adrian Peterson had a hernia since week 10. I really wish he would have broken that record. Would have made it even more impressive.

I’m pretty sure he’s staying away to avoid the ridicule that he’ll take lol.

But in regards to the Ed Reed talk… He should retire like Lewis. He just won a ring, he is old, he should have plenty of money and hasn’t really had any major injuries that I can think of.

He should walk away on top while he can still walk.
What ridicule? The only person who can talk any shit about how the Super Bowl turned out is the ONE Ravens fan on this whole site. Other than his team, the Niners were heads and shoulders above the entire NFL and are already the odds-on favorites to win it all next year.

Pat? He can choke on an Atlanta cock for all I care. He sounds like a fool touting Alex Smith as the better QB than Kaepernick. Wouldn’t expect anything less from a guy who has watched exactly ONE championship in the entire 150+ year professional sports history of his city. The guy simply doesn’t know what championship-caliber players in ANY sport looks like.

Gettinitdone sounds like another dumbfuck football fan with his bogus claims that Matt Ryan will be a better QB than Kaepernick when all is said and done. Like history means ANYTHING in sports. Was he pointing to the fact that the Niners had never lost in the Super Bowl as one of the reasons that they would win? Of course not, because none of that has bearing on the game. I laugh at the notion that anything that Vick or Newton or any other QB has done has any impact whatsoever on what Kaepernick will do. And for the record, Steve Young was as pure a pocket passer as there ever was in the NFL for his entire starting career. I should know. I was in Candlestick for all but a handful of his starts between 1991 and 1999.

If every GM in the NFL could choose a QB for the next ten years and the two choices were Kaepernick and Ryan they’d all take Kaepernick. Clearly Gettinitdone hasn’t watched Kaepernick play a whole lot if he thinks he’s a running QB. The guy is a pocket passer who happens to have a ton of speed. Ask Pat and his fucking Falcons what Kaepernick can do from the pocket. The guy will UNDOUBTEDLY have a better career than Ryan and he has ALREADY proven to be a better clutch performer than Ryan is.

Ryan is a fucking choke artist with a weaker, less-accurate arm than Kaepernick has. He’s also way smarter, which is an important trait for any QB and is a reason why Newton and Vick bear no comparison to Kaepernick. The guy’s Wonderlic score was more than two standard deviations above the mean, whereas Vick and Newton’s score COMBINED was less than Kaepernick’s.

Anyone who’s actually played football in their lives can see that Ryan’s ceiling is Kaepernick’s floor. Doesn’t take a genius to notice that Kaepernick consistently rifled the ball through tight windows with more velocity than any other QB in the game is capable of all season long for the 49ers.

As far as not being around the last few days, it has nothing to do with the Super Bowl. It’s just a fucking game. A game I happen to have been unhealthily emotionally invested in, but so what? I’m also an SF Giants fan so at least I can take some comfort in knowing that I just watched two World Series winners in the last three years and will be watching a contending team again this year, regarding both baseball AND football. No one else on this site can say the same thing about their favorite baseball and football teams.

I’ve been away because I have a fucking life, which includes working while trying to fill out a shitload of paperwork for a job with the State Department out in South Korea that I just accepted. Sorry if I haven’t been around to argue with you guys about the Super Bowl. The Niners may have lost the battle, but ten years from now they will have won the war and reaffirmed their position as one of the premier sports franchises in the world. That isn’t something that any other football fan can say in this thread. The only franchises that can even think about making a statement like that are the Cowgirls, who are going nowhere fast and haven’t done a fucking thing since 1995, and the Steelers, whose future isn’t nearly as bright as the 49ers’ is.

And I sure as shit am glad that I haven’t had to root for some phony-as-shit, murdering, cheating, thuggish caricature like Ray Lewis for the last fifteen years. Watching Barry Bonds put a Giants uniform on for almost 15 years was bad enough. I can’t imagine what any Ravens fan with half a conscience must be going through knowing that they’ve been cheering on one of the biggest pieces of phony shit to ever put on a football jersey.

No, thank you very much. I’ll take my Niners over any other team any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. It was a horrific loss for me personally, but I got over it really quickly knowing that I’ll probably be watching them contend for a Super Bowl title every year just like the old days. Fuck, can’t expect a team to go to the Super Bowl six times without losing.

And fuck yeah I’m bitter about my team losing? So what? At least I can admit it, unlike most of you other motherfuckers (Pat) who watch their pitiful franchise fall short every year and then slam everyone else’s far more storied teams in a misguided attempt at making themselves feel better about the fact that the pinnacle of their teams’ histories is falling short. Most other teams’ fans would be happy just to get to the Super Bowl. But when you’re a 49ers fan that doesn’t work. Unless you’re a Steelers, Patriots or Cowgirls fan, you’ll never know what that feeling is like.
You don’t even know man. Kap has virtually the same record as Tebow…

Now your on board!
Virtually… Same winning record, including play-offs.
In other words, neither have a large body of work, Kap is clearly more talented though.

There seemed to be an inordinate glorification of Kaepernick by some including some in the media who were already talking first ballot hall of fame. I wasn’t comparing them player to player. My comparison is body of work. Both have similar records as starters, one guy everybody hates one guy everybody loves. One guy people want out of the league, the other people want in the HOF. Neither have enough starts under there belt to determine any of that. Neither ending one’s career, nor electing one to the HOF.
A LOT can happen in between the beginning and end of a career. Lot’s of guys came out hot and fall flat, a lot of guys struggled at first and became great.
Half a year cannot rank a player among the vet’s or the greats in the game.
The guy hasn’t played a lot of games yet, that’s all. He’s clearly talented, but most guys are at this level. Time determines greatness.
At this point in young careers, you are earning the right to start the next game.
That is all I am saying. It’s all I have been saying. The rest has been subjective to extreme sensitivity about the matter.

Considering that 65% of NFL players leave the league with some type of permanent injury, it’s a good idea when you can leave on top and you don’t have much left in the tank.

Exactly, you only live once so why live a shortened shitty life where you can’t walk, eat or live on your own because you have the mental capacity and mobility of a 95 year old.

I agree with you, but it is hard to walk away from the money. These kids live in the now, and want to get paid.
