The last post was usmccds423 talking about Pats woes without gronk, Hernandez and Welker taking up the slack, etc.

LOL, come on with this…
MattyXL-
On a side note, before the Colts game I had a friend say we should pick up Sanchez next year to compete with Joe Flacco…I almost punched him square in the balls.
However, I felt compelled to address this post from Matty
"Because the national media fawns over Lewis like no other and always seems to forget the murder that he has some accountability and involvement in. Also because the fawning has gone overboard when they have said that Lewis is the best LB of all time, when there is no doubt in my mind that it was and is Lawrence Taylor.
I hear about the fucking Ravens all the time, so I think your lowballing 2%. I mean Lewis gets at least 25% of face time by himself.
Instead of him dancing I would love to See Gronkowski destroy him or another multitude of Tight Ends blow past him in coverage."
The only reason Lewis is getting ANY facetime is that the Jets aren’t in the playoffs. C’mon Matty, ESPN worked their balls off to make the Jets Americas team since what, June? There will always be media darlings and players that boost ratings, etc. NFL viewers and folks that pay attention to sports center were gagging on Tebow/Sanchez/Rex Ryan updates nearly the entire year. And then when butt fumble happened and Fireman Ed quit we had to hear about it all over again. After that, RGIII consumed the headlines all while there have been players and teams who had amazing seasons (Megatron breaking Jerry Rice’s record as an example) but that was shuffled off the air and replaced with Jets talk. Same for Adrian Petersons run at Dickersons’ record. Same with Russell Wilson straight ballin’ in Seattle.
Who knows what the formula is for media outlets that are striving for ratings, but one thing is clear, they grab onto a polarizing figure and run it into the ground rather than give appropriate attention to teams and players that are excelling in the sport itself.
It’s gross, yes, but know too that your squad recieved truckloads of unwarranted attention too. Not just the Purple #52.

Agreed they fucking kick ass. I love what they do with Ridley/Vereen/Woodhead. With Edelman and Gronk healthy it would be even more ridiculous.

Don’t understand why my jet allegiance has anything to dl with it Brad. Understand that if the media was fawning over Ed Reed or Joe flaccos recent excellent play you wouldnt here a peep from me. However…the media forgets Ray Lewis’ past and likes to treat him like he may win the sanctity of sainthood upon his death. I’m sorry but you DO NOT plea bargin when you are totally innocent…the media chooses not to recognise this.
With regard to the constant unwanted media coverage of the jets. By and large the coverages erred on the negative side wherein the jets were synononomous with words like “joke” “circus” and “clueless.”
Lewis’ media coverage is the antithesis of the jets coverage.
Did the Jets get a new GM Matty? They were going to offer the job to that Seattle guy werent they?
That’s what I’ve been hearing but nothing official yet
Lol, seems about right, lets give the OC position to a guy who has had a shit offense for the past 2 years
would you rather have Cam Cameron or Pat Shurmur

I see what you’re saying and I apologize if it seemed like I was starting an argument, but I have to disagree with you, especially the last sentence. Because, for me, sports news is accomplishing the same thing by using stories like the Jets and #52. It’s the tabloid TMZ aspect of sports, not the actual performances that make these two stories synonymous with me.
Brad no need to apologize bro I respect your opinion. I wasn’t upset at all I’m sorry you felt the need to apologize.
Hey DB I’m sorry brother my head has been in the clouds. Rough week. But all is looking good again. I forgot we made this bet I know I’m an idiot. How about I will rock the avatar you give me til my birthday on June 18th? Are you a hockey fan hahaha?

What is hockey?
I gave you an avatar back on page 30-something in the previous NFL thread. Here it is again though. No worries. I see in your current avatar picture that you have a small child. Taking care of your kids always takes precedence over satisfying your blood debt to me.
You don’t have to use it until June though. Just for 30 days, unless you want to start using it on May 18th.
