NFL 2011 Season Starts Now

Come on Beans what is your insight on your team?

Not about Brady by the way. Where do you see potential problems?

Scared you dont have a pass rusher?

On the Pats:

Offence - Once they Gel, if they stay healthy and keep Brady upright, can be scary good. The have “it”, if not right now, in the making.

Defense - Oi I just don’t know.

D-Line - Looked like fucking ProBowl studs compaired to last year… But who knows if that lasts, but might get better. Could be shit again, or could fuck people up… Toss up

LineBackers - Eh, I’m not worried. No massive studs, but a couple names could become household…

Corners - McCorty looked out matched, but found his groove. The Rookie looks good, and the rest of them can fit in. Not worried, they will be fine.

Safety - Major issue. Major scary issue.

This team is a Rodney Harrison away from putting down another 3 out of 4… Assuming the D Line gets better and the O stays healthy.

^ Didnt watch the game, Jlo working late and was doing stuff.

Listening this morning seems like the achilles has been the young D for the past 2-3 post seasons. They have been out done by not being able to stop the run, think Bill got that fixed?

Also heard it was great to see El Mariachi (Chad Johnson) STFU.

Was it good move to get rid of Merriweather?

speaking of achilles did anyone see beason’s achilles pop?

anyone notice the rash of nfl injuries this season?

Safeties definitely were a problem. But the D-line looked pretty badass. Every time I turned around, Henne was a millisecond away from getting his ass flattened.

I agree with most of this for sure. Safety as you said is the glaring weak-spot, Foster got burned and Chung had a couple bumps in the road, but he also came up big a few times and delivered some quality hits. With no Merriweather back there they may actually get in the zone and settle down, who knows. At this point they need a leader I don’t know who it will be.

O line as you said was huge, Solder was the man. Being a rookie and matching up the way he did was huge.

D-Line, well if Big Al gets in better shape thats just a scary thing. I thought he looked very fresh last night and had some good pressure and a few nice stops on the run.

Offense as a whole looked great. Branch looked fresh, as did most of the receivers. I think I’m most excited to see how far Slater can go, with his speed he might be the legitimate deep threat, I think he just needs more game time to settle into the roll. As for Mr 85, he had one nice side line catch, but other than that there was nothing. I think if he doesn’t turn it around and start producing we may see Randy come back.

On a side note I now want a pair of man uggs to walk around town in

On the good side that means we’re tied for first in the NFC West, on the bad side it means that we are getting further away from Andrew Luck. I’m torn.
I feel ya.

What do you think will happen if Peyton misses the season and the Colts have the worst record in the league… With they take Luck and mark the end of Peyton in Indy?

He put on a fucking clinic. 521 yards? WOW!
I liked how they went to a reciever then went right back to them the next play. Kept the Dolphins’ secondary guessing. They did that more than a few times, particularly to Branch and Hernandez.
That pass to Welker was just ridiculous. It went right past 2 defenders and just left them speechless.

Oh, Peyton is missing the season, I know this for a fact. He had to his neck what I had done to my back. There is no way in hell he is going to be healthy enough to play this season. He now has plates and a spacer in his neck. It takes at least 6 months to be healed enough to take any kind of hits. I am looking at least 8 more weeks before I can start lifting again, much less get hit. He is very much in the same boat. Anybody who has had this done, knows for a fact he’s done this year…
They just may suck for ‘Luck’…they need to start grooming a new QB, Peyton ain’t no spring chicken.

That one and one pass to Hernandez in the third was unreal too. Defenders all around and he dropped it right in.

I dont agree with you SSC about Stafford, his college numbers were over rated. But I think this kid has the tools, mental make up and the “it” factor. He should have got his shoulder fixed the first year instead of waiting. Honestly if he played for say Arizona or Seattle what would you think about him?
I think he has the tools, but I think he lacks the ‘it’. His biggest issue is he’s injury prone. I believe this is has last year, if he doesn’t start at least 14 years, he’ll end up being a journey man QB floating around the league as a back up like Leftwich.
I dont think so, his injury was one injury. He should have got it fixed the first year, and then he would not have had it come up again. This is his third year but the first two were fucked up by one injury. Leftwich had a worse throwing motion than Tebow that is the reason he is a back up. Stafford does not have that issue.

I have heard reports that he never had an injury in his whole career, HS or college. That like a lot of people he did not want surgery if there was a possible other option.
Well in NFL he would have been better getting the surgery and been back full force.

I will go out on a limb and say he will not get injured this year and he will have a very productive year, with possible break out year next year.
Well, I disagree, but I guess we’ll get to see. I do agree that they should have taken the shoulder situation more seriously. If the Lion’s do anything though, I am bettin’ it’s Su, not Stafford that makes the MVP for that team.
It’s funny about Tebow, that’s what “they” say about him, but every time I have seen him, he makes plays, period. In the air and on the ground. “They” say he sucks at practice, but then they never show footage of it. In games, he just flat plays.
Denver went safe with Orton, but Orton is a 3 quarter QB. He’s always asleep at the wheel in one of the 4. I am bettin’ Orton is out by game 6 as starter.
I have heard that about Tebow, and I remember a few QB’s like that in the old NFL.

How many times have we seen a back up QB come out to replace an injured starter and light it up? But then fall flat when DC’s find out how to attack. I see Tebow this way, yea he may make some plays but after that he is a one trick pony. Ravens or Steelers will kill him with that delivery and ability to read Defenses.
Just watchin’ orton last night was kind of painful. They really need to ditch him and go with wonder boy. Orton was just so stunningly average and lifeless.
Over 300 yards 1 TD and 1 Int, I hope they do, so we can really see if Tebow can play.

I am just glad my job is not riding on that kid, cause I think if Fox does it he better be ready to move.
Yeah the yardage wasn’t bad, but most of it was between the 20’s, the red zone ain’t his forte. He needs to make it count in the red zone. Then there was the fumble, ugly… Of course the crowd chanting “Tebow, Tebow” should be a confidence builder.
The Raiders looked good on the ground game, but their cracks will show by game 3. Orton’s gotta go. It’s Tebow time. My prediction he will be the starting QB by game 6, if they know what good for them.

Who is the TE for Denver? that is normally a QB’s best friend, does Orton have one?

Agreed. Honestly, its unfortunate for Tebow. The coach that had a hard-on for him was shipped to another team. It put Tebow in a bad spot. For his sake and Denver’s, he needs to go and I think Miami would fit him fine.

Agreed. Honestly, its unfortunate for Tebow. The coach that had a hard-on for him was shipped to another team. It put Tebow in a bad spot. For his sake and Denver’s, he needs to go and I think Miami would fit him fine.
If Tebow wants to be more than a flash in the pan, he will request a trade to a developmental team or top 5 team so he can sit and learn.

Problem is though this kid has always been The Man, now I just dont think he can be the man. He needs years of sitting and learning how to be a Pro QB.

This Tebow shit bothers me, whatever happened to the days of a rookie QB holding on to a clipboard for a couple of years and waiting for his opportunity. Fans chanting for Tebow as if he was the number 1 pick in the draft.

If that was the case then I would understand and agree, but he was a highly questionable first round pick at best, still hasnt proven a thing. Orton, if I remember correctly had a pretty good year last year and was responsible for turning a scrub into a legitimate threat once again (Lloyd)

I blame Fantasy Football Matty.

Where you can take out Brady and put in Peyton Manning cause you drafted both. Probably 80% of fans are fair weather fans and just have no appreciation of what the NFL is about.

You have 32 teams that are given X number of money to spend, every team has to put together a team to win. This is not about recruiting your local sports star to come and play for your college team. This is not about the NFL capable player going against Joe who will be working next year as a financial adviser for Fidelity.

This is about GM’s, Owners, and coaches managing a roster of ELITE players to try to take the ultimate crown.

Some can do it and some cannot not, because the ones who cannot start listening to the media and fans. If the media and fans really did know it all they wouldnt be media and fans they would GM’s, owners and coaches.
