Stoked on the Chargers this year.
It was “here we go again” with the special teams on that first play, but our defense with Sanders and Spikes looked real good. Sanders was all over the place and if he can stay healthy I feel like we have a top 10/5 defense.

Rivers will be Rivers, but the running game looked way better than it has been. Matthews got some good runs and Tolbert was awesome.

I realize one game does not a season make, but with how the Chiefs played (and I guess we’ll see about Oakland and Denver), the Chargers have the division handily this year. Still  about our special teams.

Patriots offense looks scary, and I feel bad for Chad Henne, although he’s played damn well.

Anyone feel like all the blowouts might be because some teams haven’t had enough time to prepare? What with the lockout and new players and not enough time for training camps you think we’ll see some of worse teams this week play significantly better down the line?

I’d much rather see that game than the Giants vs. Rams on Monday night. But since the Pats played tonight, I can see why it didn’t happen.
Giants vs. Rams? Not appealing for me. Especially since both may have notable injuries.

I will never fully understood the NE and Brady hate by some football fans. I put it down to envy or jealousy and an anti-elitist mentality by some football fans. After all isn’t football supposed to be a down and dirty type game with attitudes and energies reflected by teams like the 70s Steelers and 80s Bears? Some still think its about Mike Ditka talking trash or players playing through concussions and broken limbs. Fact is, masculinity has never ‘fell off’ from football, it has just taken a different form. Brady is a boss, he shows it through skill. He doesn’t like to get hit because he’s smart not because he’s a pussy. Who gives a shit if Brady and Sanchez have modelled for GQ - they’ll still kick your ass on the football field. Fuck, I mean, I’d rather be married to a supermodel or be one of NYs most eligible bachelors than be accused of rape by some ugly skank in a karaoke bar or where ever the fuck it was.

Bush was pretty good today.

wow… Almost 1,000 combined yards passing tonight. thats nuts

500 yards…

That boy may be gay, but he can sure toss a pigskin around.

I don’t like them or him because they notably knocked my team out of the playoffs twice. I give credit to Brady and the team for being good, but I don’t like them. It doesn’t help that the playoff game they beat us in, there were Patriot fans sitting behind us and they were the most annoying fucks ever. With their stupid accents, they were talking about how Brady was a God even though he had three picks in the game. That is why I hate them.

Here is who I think wins the first week.

St. Louis over Philly
Kansas City over Buffalo
Atlanta over Chicago
Tampa Bay over Detroit
Tennessee over Jax
Cleveland over Cinci
Pitt over Baltimore
Houston over Indy
Washington over NY Giants
San Diego over Minnesota
Arizona over Carolina
San Fran over Seattle
NY Jets over Dallas
New England over Miami
Oakland over Denver
Haha, I picked the first seven wrong and the last eight right. I’m good at getting the late games.

Jesus Christ, how the fuck is John Fox still coaching?

The 49ers are 1-0, and that’s better than half the league!

On the good side that means we’re tied for first in the NFC West, on the bad side it means that we are getting further away from Andrew Luck. I’m torn.

Finish this sentence. After the upcoming Sunday game, San Fran will be…

I can say 1-1 after loss to Cowboys.

This kid is going to be the un-proven savior for a lot of teams this season. If I were you all I’d wait it out and keep a tight eye on Arizona States’ Osweiller. 6’8, 240, and can sling it. Good pocket presence too.

Too tall.

Didnt you see the combine reports when they talk about QB’s over 6’6" not making it in the NFL?

The same combine that told us Jamarques Russel should be the #1 qb?

I’d say that 6’8 is pretty damn tall, a novelty even, but I watched him against Missouri last week and he was legit in that game.

Yea I am just joking.

I think some people get to caught up with physical stats.

SSC Yea that sucks about Beason.

Its apples and oranges honestly every team is a unique entity onto itself. Cam had a great game, thing was it was his first game. Once DC’s see enough film they will attack his weakness just like every DC. Then we get to see how really good he is.

I dont agree with you SSC about Stafford, his college numbers were over rated. But I think this kid has the tools, mental make up and the “it” factor. He should have got his shoulder fixed the first year instead of waiting. Honestly if he played for say Arizona or Seattle what would you think about him?
I think he has the tools, but I think he lacks the ‘it’. His biggest issue is he’s injury prone. I believe this is has last year, if he doesn’t start at least 14 years, he’ll end up being a journey man QB floating around the league as a back up like Leftwich.
I dont think so, his injury was one injury. He should have got it fixed the first year, and then he would not have had it come up again. This is his third year but the first two were fucked up by one injury. Leftwich had a worse throwing motion than Tebow that is the reason he is a back up. Stafford does not have that issue.

I have heard reports that he never had an injury in his whole career, HS or college. That like a lot of people he did not want surgery if there was a possible other option.
Well in NFL he would have been better getting the surgery and been back full force.

I will go out on a limb and say he will not get injured this year and he will have a very productive year, with possible break out year next year.
Well, I disagree, but I guess we’ll get to see. I do agree that they should have taken the shoulder situation more seriously. If the Lion’s do anything though, I am bettin’ it’s Su, not Stafford that makes the MVP for that team.
It’s funny about Tebow, that’s what “they” say about him, but every time I have seen him, he makes plays, period. In the air and on the ground. “They” say he sucks at practice, but then they never show footage of it. In games, he just flat plays.
Denver went safe with Orton, but Orton is a 3 quarter QB. He’s always asleep at the wheel in one of the 4. I am bettin’ Orton is out by game 6 as starter.
I have heard that about Tebow, and I remember a few QB’s like that in the old NFL.

How many times have we seen a back up QB come out to replace an injured starter and light it up? But then fall flat when DC’s find out how to attack. I see Tebow this way, yea he may make some plays but after that he is a one trick pony. Ravens or Steelers will kill him with that delivery and ability to read Defenses.
Just watchin’ orton last night was kind of painful. They really need to ditch him and go with wonder boy. Orton was just so stunningly average and lifeless.

Henne got schooled hard… Brady looked like he could do this shit in his sleep.

I liked how they went to a reciever then went right back to them the next play. Kept the Dolphins’ secondary guessing. They did that more than a few times, particularly to Branch and Hernandez.

Over 300 yards 1 TD and 1 Int, I hope they do, so we can really see if Tebow can play.

I am just glad my job is not riding on that kid, cause I think if Fox does it he better be ready to move.
