NFL 2011 Season Starts Now

one game doesnt make him a stud. Vince Young had more than 1 spectacular game and his ass is riding the bench after being cut. Newtons completion percentage was in the 30’s for all his pre season reps… I seriously doubt he stays in the 65% range like he was yesterday.

oh yeah and they lost
Not talking winning or losing. Talking about how he played. If I remember correctly, VY didn’t throw for 400 some yds. In fact, I don’t think any rookie qb in the history of the NFL has thrown for 400yds until yesterday.

Doubters really are haters hiding behind 70’s porn star mustaches.

I know, right?

Know who looks like they’re in real trouble? Like, “oh shit these guys are in for it” trouble?

Pittsburg.

B-more put’em to work and didn’t let up. Lots of little skermishes and fights throughout the game too, showing that P-burg was frustrated and couldn’t stack up.

Just try and tell me the Harbaugh brothers aren’t AWESOME for NFL football. These guys are old school, and the NFL is trending back to the game I love to see.
Brad, you gotta remember, it’s only one game out of 15. They just weren’t as emotionally charged as the Ravens. Remember Pitt doesn’t need to prove anything in that division. On the other hand Balt. stock piled players just for Pitt. They MUST beat Pitt to be contenders.

Most of the blame should be on Tomlin. He just didn’t have his players or coaches ready to play yesterday.

“just weren’t as emotionally charged.”

Well why the fuck not? It’s game one against BALTIMORE, a team that you have to clunk heads with at least twice. Why not go into their house and hand it to them? I disagree that Pitt doesn’t have anything to prove in that division. It’s a whole brand new year, slate is clean, etc.

You’re right, Tomlin didn’t have them ready. B-more was hitting them. In the mouth. P-burg totally got mad and couldn’t hang. Steelers have to fix their shit, NOW, or they’re in real trouble.

^Let me ask you this Brad? How many more times this yr will you see them turn the ball over 7x? I would venture a guess of zero.

Maybe emotionally charged isn’t the rt verbage. Pitt didn’t need that win as bad as Balt more did. Now, it’s in their psyche that Balt. can beat them. My guess, come Nov. 6th in Pitt, things will be much different.

Actually yesterdays game reminded me of the Balt v NE playoff game. NE was the better team that yr but it was only one game, & that day belonged to Balt.

Thoughts on tonight’s games? Ill take the Broncos over Raiders and Pats over Dolphins but it will be a close game(for the Pats).

Kinda have to agree here, sorry Greg. And it works inversely too. If he would have had a bad game then all of his detractors would be saying “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” after only one game.

Step back, take a deep breath, and let him play football. We’ll see how good he is in 15 years, ok?

(BTW, just because they both scrambled in college does not mean VY and CN are really that similar as quarterbacks. In terms of actual pro scouting I’m to understand Cam Newton was a fair bit better ranked than Young coming in.)

I think the Raiders will get it done tonight.

And honestly it’s a mistake to bet against NE when Brady and the Hoody are together. They’re winners. Spread is what, 12.5? That might be a little generous for game one on a Monday night in Miami.

Also more intelligent.

VY is a smart as a bag of hammers.

Cam did some “questionable” things in college…but never got caught. Got to be pretty quick mentally.

Yeah it seemed as if he ran the wrong route, I believe he Bryant had leg cramps in the third quarter,.
Well now all the people who do not understand the game will say Romo choked and he needs replaced etc. Of course this will all be people who did not watch the game and will be going off the highlights that only show the end of the play and not the endzone coaches view that shows Bryant ran the route wrong. But this is nothing new on Romo hate.

Matty Sean Lee was a second round pick last year out of Penn state, kid has great upside and has basically replaced Keith Brooking.

We have who starting at CB? McCan, Ball and McCray. Yes those are house hold names.
This was my biggest worry again for this season we have NO depth in secondary and like any good QB Sanchez took advantage of it last night. I am actually surprised it was not worse.

I had predicted 24-21 Jets okay well I did predict the 3 point win.
Damn some of you guys stay up freakin late. Anyway, DJ I am very surprised on how the game turned out last night. Although the O-line allowed 3 sacks, they looked better than I would have thought. The coverage was even more surprising in the first half. Jones looked fantastic against the Jets run defense. But I guess I am going to be one of the guys who doesnt understand the game when it comes to Romo. He is a good QB and I would take him anyday over Sanchez. In fact, they wouldnt have given the Jets such a hard time if Kitna was leading. But he has now been in the league for 9yrs. The mistakes he made should not be made by a veteran like him. It happens near every game he plays. Generally, he will start the game like a Hall of Famer and then make dire mistakes that cost the game. Unless he turns it around this season(which I dont see that happening), I think Dallas will need to start looking for a 1st round rook or a quality FA. He has been give more than enough time to develop and shape up.

You could match CN up with Matt Ryan, or Jay Cutler and have a better perspective on what these #'s from yesterday meant. Matt Stafford threw for 405 for his opener just a few years ago… So there’s plenty more to compare than just VY.

Brady has a track record of sucking donkey dick in Florida. He openly admits it too.

If the Pats aren’t 100%, they lose a close one. If they are 100%, they may cover 13 if the Fins give away a pick six or something like that.

Here is to big games from the following:
Law Firm
Gronkkow-ican’tspellhisname-ski

Those three sacks Romo took instead of trying to make something happen, so other than that I thought the OL did a wonderful job. Which gives me hope for talent evaluation of Jason Garret and Hudson Houck.

We are to far down the rabbit hole with Romo at this point he has been the starter now for going into his 6th year. Does every team blow up the team when the QB is just barely above average? Cause you would have to do a total rebuild, do you think Ware or Bryant will stay around with a rookie QB? Also you would have to have a top 5 pick to get a franchize QB. So do you give up on whole team?

At no point will you ever hear me say Romo is Aikman or Staubach, however we went through 13 starting QB’s since Aikman. Romo has won more games than all those 13 for sure.

Plus he had a 14 point lead in the 4th. Blocked punt for 7 and our secondary let the Jets march right down the field. Its always easy to compare other teams against your team, but I also remember the years before Favre won a SB. I cant remember if you are old enough to remember those times, but man it was 50/50 on GB fans who wanted another QB.

Cardinals looked good, but they were over shadowed by their losing opponent. But 400+ yards passing is amazing so.

Watched the entire first season of Friday Night Lights yesterday. It is now abundantly clear to me that we need to fire Todd Haley and Scott Pioli. Eric Taylor can be our Head Coach and Buddy Garitty can take over as GM. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose!!
