NFL 2011 Season Starts Now

The Raiders have a killer running game. I remember they ran all over us last year.

They lost a couple linemen and their top TE though, which could have a fairly big impact. McFadden and Bush do form a pretty sick 1-2 though.

Anyone think Peyton Manning might miss the start of the regular season? Jim Irsay tweeted about it today. The Colts would lose every game with Curtis “I couldn’t throw the ball down a well” Painter. His reg season numbers are 8-28 for 23yrds 0 tds and 2picks. Rating of 9.8. To be honest I think Manning will make it. Would be kind of amusing if he didn’t.

I think there is a slight chance. Maybe a 25% chance he doesn’t play the first game. I agree with you that they would lose every game without him. That shows how good he is and how inept his backups are. Compare that to last year when the Steelers didn’t have Big Ben for the first four games and they still won most of them.

Wow,the Texans look amazing! Arian “Master Race” Foster looks great and Tate did an amazing job. When they interviewed Tate,he was just so genuine and you can really enjoys being a Texans. Defense did an awesome job too. Proud of my Texans.

I dont think the giants will suck at all, that offense is going to very successful, their receivers may not be household names, but as a group they are excellent, Nicks, Manningham and Hixon the best receivers you never heard of.

Bradhaw and Jacobs is an excellent 1-2 punch a perfect blend of size and skill

Giants dont use TE much in their offense so losing boss wont hurt as much as people think, and this kid Beckam could play.

Their O-line is a big worry however.

On D their line will still be excellent their LBs are weak. I still say they battle the iggles for the title and end up winning the division

I agree. The only thing I don’t like about him is that he thought he was going to automatically be the starter this year and started pouting when Orton was working with the first team. It’s only his second year, it’s not a bad thing to be the backup and learn more. Look at Rodgers.
The fact that he got drafted by a person whose no longer on the team is also really unfortunate. Josh McDaniels is the one who picked Tebow, and now that he’s no longer with the team, Tebow is a leftover from a previous regime.

You can tell that they don’t really know what to do with him. Make him the face of the franchise even though they didn’t pick him? or trade him away?

I wish he would just go to a team where he can be like Cam Newton, the obvious future of the franchise, no matter how he performs for the first couple years.
You guys are joking about Tebow right?

Nope. I’d take him over Alex Smith.

That brings up a question. Is Smith’s downward career his fault or fault of the staff? If I remember correctly, he did well in college(I may be thinking of another QB).

Well it doesn’t help the fact that the 49ers change offensive coordinators constantly. If I remember the best season he had was when Norv Turner was the offensive coordinator. Norv Turner might not be the best head coach, but he is great at working with QBs.

Of course he did well in college, he was the number 1 pick after all.

And I don’t watch every 49ers game, and I’m no expert, but there comes a time when QB’s have to just produce something.

There’s too many young QB’s that came in recently and are showing a lot more promise than Smith, some of them even in similar situations. (Bradford, came into a struggling team with a strong RB and not much else, kinda comparable). Flacco, Stafford, Ryan, Sanchez, the list goes on.

He gets the “bust” label cuz he went 1 overall, and 6 years later is still throwing less than 60% and missing what, 30 games in the last 4 years. Definitely not entirely the staff’s fault for that.

Aron Maybin got his 1st sack as a Jet…already more then Vernon Gholston.

I’d say it’s 70% Alex Smith’s fault and 30% the organizations fault. The constant change definitely hurts, but Smith has had plenty of opportunities to succeed, but has simply fallen short every single time.

I think the Bradford example is a very good one. He came onto a horrible team, started very quickly, and showed that he’s going to be a very good QB. His numbers weren’t anything otherworldly, but he proved his worth. Smith hasn’t ever done that, and he’s had years to do so.

The only reason he’s stayed around so long is because there simply aren’t that many decent QB’s at the NFL level, and every new coach that comes in sees that Smith is average but knows the team and the organization well, so they might as well keep him because there’s nothing noticeably better out there (unless you go all in for a Kolb).

Stuck in the land of mediocrity.

bwuahahah QFT

Terrelle Pryor taken in the 3rd round by Oakland. Whatever chance he had at an NFL career just disappeared.

Two things Al Davis always drafts: Anyone with a sub 4.40 40 time and QBs with howitzers for arms, no matter how inaccurate or retarded they are.

For the money it seems Pryor could have filled some gaps for squads like what… SF? Seattle? AZ? Detroit? Chicago? Freaking Tampa? Cincinatti?

You name it.

Now he’s a Raider.

Dare I say, Arian Foster the best running back in football. I like him better than Chris Johnson.

Pryor should still be playing for Ohio. Shame on the NCAA for messing up that team over minor infractions. He sold shit, big effing deal. When is the NCAA going to realise college football players are the equivalent of celebrities and stars in the collegiate universe. Football runs most of those universities.

Now he’ll probably be Jamarcus Russell 2.0.

Taylor Mays got traded to Cincy
