My mistake, its usually Steeler fans that hate the Pats. I never hated the Jets until they got that fat loud mouthed foot smeller Rex Ryan as a coach. Win the superbowl eh? try 8-8 fat boy. LOL, do the Jets suck, yeah they do this year…they didnt address their needs and every facet of their personell either stayed the same or got worse…so Ill take my lumps this year.

However to say getting to two championship games 2 years in a row is failing miserably then count me in, I believe we beat that Pats last year also, but I guess that doesn’t count.

How can a Pat fan not hate the Jets? Just when Ryan came into town you started hating them? Shit our hatred for each other goes further back then Ryan, think Curtis Martin, Mo Lewis being single handedly responsible for starting your beginning from mediocre franchize to one of the most revered (when he knocked out Bledsoe) Think that smug arrogant Bellichek foregoing coaching the Jets and quitting in a day and jumping ship to your team. Think all the former jets and pats players who have switched allegiances.

If you just started hating the Jets you must be 12, there is no other team I hate more than the Pats.

While there are some Pat fans on here that I truly like (Beans and Ddot) I really hope they are severely disappointed come SB Sunday.

Your comments on Sanchez screams ignorance just like most talking heads and idiot fans. Think of other top level QBs that have struggled in their 3rd year (Eli Manning Drew Bledsoe for instance) On top of that he had 31 total TDs this year…

This is in spite of the following:

A shit offensive line (wayne hunter and Dbrickashaw Ferguson were awful)
No running game
a horrible OC

This season disaster does not only fall at Sanchezes’ feet but the front office not addressing the needs for a pure pass rusher and a legit Right Guard.

The jury is still out on Sanchez, as DJ stated he has improved every year but everything is magnified in NY.

Patz suck rigor mortis dick.

Most of you guys know how I feel about Sanchez. However I’m willing to give him a pass this yr. for what Matty stated so elegantly. & will add that all team chemistry went rt out the window w/the loss of some key players. I’m willing to see what Sparano can do with him. Though I think it should of stayed in house w/Callahan. Cavanaugh has to go to. Not a good qb coach.

I almost shed a tear.

As a Pats fan, I hate the Jets (before and long after Sexy Rex-y). Surprisingly I don’t really HATE the Bills or the Dolphins. I still strongly dislike Pittsburgh and Indianapolis. Philip Rivers? No Thanks.

I would say there’s a strong correlation between hating teams that are ‘threatening’ vs one’s that aren’t. You just don’t get passionate about hating Chad Henne or Ryan Fitzpatrick, do you?

While I may have lost my marbles for a few brief moments yesterday after Cundiff missed, you can’t ignore the reasons why you hate these teams. I doubt Matty’s passion for BB or TB would be as strong if Brady was a bust (after the Mo hit on Bledsoe) or if Belichick one and done’d it in NE.

I watched the Saints-9ers game with a buddy of mine. Cowboy fan. Hates the 9ers and I guarantee it’s not because of Alex Smith or Vernon Davis. Try Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ronnie Lott, etc.

It’s funny how the guys you hate end up wearing Yellow Jackets and give long speeches about how their teammates made them better.

From my perspective, I cheer against Sanchez cause I don’t WANT him to get better (but he’s probably got the talent to GET better). I’d rather see him fail before he whoops my team consistently year in and year out.

PS: While I’d love to get revenge against the Giants. The worst thing about the SB birth is that I now have to watch the f’n Tyree catch about a gazillion times in 2 weeks. That shit kills my appetite.

The Giants are more than a formidable foe. I still hope we stomp a mudhole in their ass though and I’ll be cheering LOUDLY for that in 13 days.

PSS: Matty has the best AVI

Harbaugh’s not very far-removed from the game. He’s so competitive and intense that I think when a game is over, especially one like that, he is just so caught up in everything that the feelings of his competitor are simply not on his mind. It isn’t that he has no respect for them, it’s just that he’s so committed to his own team and he’s so driven to beat the other team that when a huge game ends his only thoughts are really to his team and how the game went for them.
Not your best spin job, DBC.

Harbaugh (SF) showed no class earlier at DET and here he goes again. Oh, but wait, he’s more intense and more committed to his team than other head coaches are to theirs, so let’s excuse his classless bullshit.

Best thing about yesterday’s 49ers loss: bandwagoners GTFO

I’m not trying to spin it, that’s how he is. I understand his behavior. I don’t like to lose at anything either so I get it if his behavior doesn’t necessarily come across as calculated in furtherance of showing deferential respect for his coaching counterpart. He’s a competitor and he doesn’t really give a shit about the other coach or the other team. It isn’t that he disdains them or disrespects them, it’s just that he’s SO into his own team that there simply isn’t room for any thought processes outside of that framework. It’s called being a competitor. I saw the handshake. It was a non-issue and quite frankly, Jim Schwartz is the one who looked like an idiot in Detroit, NOT Harbaugh. He looked like a little fucking lap dog chasing after a big Doberman. It was pathetic on his part.

I don’t get this criticism of Harbaugh’s postgame demeanor. I mean, haven’t any of you guys played sports before? No one likes the obligatory postgame handshake with the other team. You just won or you just lost and you either want to get the fuck out of there and celebrate or get the fuck out of there because you just lost. You aren’t thinking about the other team at all in terms of shaking their hand the right way or whatever. Shit, when I coached baseball I told our team that when we win we shake OUR team’s hands. What are we thanking the other kids for? For showing up? Man, you should have seen the look on the other team’s face when we won our first game and the team lined up behind the pitcher’s mound and shook hands with each other and then walked off the field. And that’s how it should be in sports. I don’t think you should openly and intentionally disrespect the other team, but let’s not pretend that you owe the other team anything or that they owe you anything.

Man, this avatar really sucks cock.

I’ll tell you guys one thing though. At least FightinIrish had the nerve to bet with me. None of you other fucking Giants fans put your avatar where your mouth was and now the bandwagon fans who just root for the winning team after the fact like this punnyguy character start coming out of the woodworks. Fuck, at least Print had the bottle to gamble with me too. You asshole Giants fans could have forced me to sport some gay fucking avatar for the next two years if you had any faith in your team. That’s why they call Forty-Niner fans the Forty-Niner Faithful. We drink that fucking Kool-Aid and then when we lose we piss in everyone else’s Kool-Aid.

Seriously though, does anyone want to gamble an avatar that the Niners make the NFC Championship Game again next year AND that they fucking win it? Anyone? I know it’s a year from now, but I’m willing to wager an avatar for one month for every person that takes the bet. But if I win, I want odds, which means I want the same sort of odds the Vegas wiseguys have given them. That’s right. 20 to 1 to win the Super Bowl next year, so I think 10 to 1 that they win the NFC Championship is appropriate. My one month against all of your guys’ 10 months. I’m taking the Niners, you guys can take the field.

These two together make no sense. Not shaking the other team’s hand after a game is openly and intentionally disrespecting the other team. It’s too bad for those boys had to listen to you.

They don’t do it in professional ball and they don’t do it in any NCAA-sanctioned ball either. At least not at the DI level. Can’t speak for JCs. So are those players all disrespecting the opponents? No, of course not. So where does this transformation from acceptable to intentional disrespect occur?

What’s with all the hate on the Niners? I for one was rooting for them because they were underdogs and nobody was picking them. Who wants to see the same old teams play in the Super Bowl every year.

I blame Coach Harbaugh for the 49ers loss.

#10 for the 49ers should have been pulled, as he fucked things up 3 times in the game. I have never seen a player (other than a QB) fuck shit up so bad, in such an important game, and the coach needs to have the sack to pull him.
I don’t blame Harbaugh, I blame Williams. I mean, the first thing you’re taught when you return punts is to get as far away from the ball as possible if you’re going to let it drop. It’s not like that hasn’t been ingrained in the guy’s head since he was in high school or anything. That was more boneheaded than the fumble, which was simply a case of not carrying the ball properly.

He also had three punt returns earlier in the game where he called for a fair catch despite the fact that the nearest defender was about 10 yards in front of him. Those could each have been an extra 15 yards or so if he makes the first guy miss. Even if he doesn’t, it’s an extra five yards and when you’re in a tie ballgame late and all you need to win is a field goal, those fair catches could have been what cost the Niners in the end just as much as the fumble and the other muffed punt.

I do wish Harbaugh had gone with someone other than Williams, but he IS a really fast player who can make some plays. But he has a history with this shit. He had a boneheaded play on a punt earlier this year that almost cost the Niners the game against the Seahawks up in Seattle. He’s had at least two punts or kicks where he hasn’t fielded the ball cleanly AND he was the one who dropped the ball on that fucking abortion of an end-around they tried in the first half. I just don’t know who else they have to return punts and kicks with Ted Ginn out. Kendall Hunter maybe?
So after SB you going to join the 2012 NFL draft thread I start?
Yeah, why not? There’s nothing else going on sports-wise out here in Norcal for a while. Warriors fucking suck just enough to give me a good cock-tease every now and then, not really into hockey and the Sharks are the biggest choke artists since Linda Lovelace anyways and to be blunt, I don’t think the SAN FRANCISCO Giants are going to have a really good season this summer. I still love their pitching, but I think Brian Wilson may already be wearing down from the heavy usage and I’m honestly not sold on Posey being the big answer they need on offense because Melky Cabrera and Angel Pagan certainly won’t be it and I don’t expect a whole lot from Huff again.

In the draft I’d obviously like to see the Niners take the best receiver available at the end of the first round and perhaps pursue depth in the secondary and at running back after that.

However, I think what will happen this offseason is that the Niners make a big, successful run at Dwayne Bowe. He’s a free agent and he’d probably love to get out of KC. And if you’re a free agent WR looking to go to a good team where you’re definitely the #1 threat in the passing game and you’re going to get a lot of looks, what better place than SF? I think they’ll sign him and end up taking the best CB/S left in the first round and then pursue depth at receiver and running back after that. I don’t think they NEED anything outside of a playmaker at WR so I think they’ll use this draft as a way to simply accumulate talent wherever the position may be rather than fill a specific need, but I still think they’ll err on the side of the playmaker on offense rather than defense, outside of cornerback and MAYBE safety.

With Harbaugh and the upswing they look to be on now, I think resigning their own free agents and attracting free agents on the open market will be much easier for them than in previous years. Plus, they must have at least a few million or so in extra revenue from the playoffs and the added attendance as opposed to when they sucked cock so maybe they’ll be a little more frisky in the free agent market as well.

I think this offseason could end up looking to be as good as the regular/postseason was for them. They’ve got the trifecta as far as establishing a great team with longevity goes: they’re young/physically-talented pretty much everywhere if they properly address WR, they’re extremely well-coached in terms of technique and playcalling/design, and they play extremely physical in all phases of the game. The real wildcard is actually the QB position. If a team has what the Niners have/could have after the draft and free agency AND they get really good play from the QB position, the sky is the limit for that team. They need more improvement from Smith and they need to load up on receivers/defensive backs in the offseason and they could be the best team in football next year, hands down. Pretty big ifs, but if they get Bowe that alone is a Huge Step in the Right Direction.

Youth ball is about more than sports. If you don’t know that, you shouldn’t be coaching it. At higher competition levels I don’t disagree with you, but good sportsmanship is something that is taught, so is humility. Lining your team up to only shake each others hands after a youth ballgame says quite a bit about yourself. Even at the professional level, sportsmanship is still a desired trait although not always present.

Plenty of better places than SF, unless you want half those looks to hit you in the shoestrings.

Regardless, it’s def a good offseason to shop for wideouts: Bowe, VJax, B Lloyd, Colston are among the crop of free agents. (so is Mike Wallace apparently, but I don’t see PIT letting him go anywhere)

Wallace should be restricted if that is still a thing. Not sure with the new CBA. I can see a team throwing a #1 and a bunch of money at him though.

Don’t even joke about Wallace leaving SN…but it is possible.

They’re going to have a problem keeping him next year, regardless of what happens this year. Fitzgerald’s insane contract is going to drive the going rate for WRs. $15 million a year LOL. Fuck that noise. Calvin Johnson should want at least that, if not more. His deal might get done this offseason, and that will set the benchmark.

I’ve already accepted the probability that Wallace is not going to be a Steeler in 2013 unless something crazy happens.

Something like that. A big drop in production or maybe a loosening of the purse strings in the Steelers FO. I don’t count on either of those happening.

First of all, I have been a Pats fan for over 35 years and don’t like the Jets anymore than the Dolphins or Bills or any other team. You have some good points( especially about allegiances and front office), but admit Rex Ryans constant shit talking did nothing to help you and that locker room is lost. Sanchez panics and chokes in big games. Yes you do have other issues probably because Rex was too busy trying to get an all Pro secondary (how that work out). You would not hate belichek if he was your coach, trust me. I have only met him once and that whole “smug and complacent” thing is a media creation, just like the notion that Eli Manning is not an elite QB. I played for Coach Coughlin as a collegiate player, and I can tell you if he did not think Eli was, He would’nt be a Giant. Mr Coughlin is not none for being sentimental. Sanchez is not a locker room leader and that locker room is divided. And you are stuck with “mr quit on his team” Santonio Holmes and Rex 'run his mouth and finish 8-8" Ryan. Btw we beat you twice this year. Get used to it until you “fix” that team. I don’t think we will be disappointed, but I bet Rex is still crying
