NFL 2011 Part 4

Maybe being a little nit picky, but I didn’t like how Harbaugh gave Coughlin that dead fish handshake. Generally in a tough fought game such as this a little more mutual respect is called for, especially for a gentleman like Coughlin. Harbaugh is an excellent coach no doubt but he is also an uber douche.

His brother on the other hand is as classy as it gets.
Matty give him a few years, he is just kind of an emotional guy IMO.

Be like asking DB to sing to Print.

The Niners are at best comparable to a Ravens-type team. And imo the Ravens do it better still, better RB, better WRs. Coincidence that both teams are coached by a Harbaugh? Jim Harbaugh is better though.

Your bad that you bought into the “hype”. Some of the key Niner wins this season could’ve easily gone the other way.
True that some of the 49ers wins this season could have gone either way, but you can say that about any other team. How about the NYGs that just whooped my team.
But, my teams front 7 on D has 3 all-pro starters. So my team will be built around its D like Baltimore.
Don’t really know about Smith. Sometimes he looked good, sometimes he regressed to jittery Smith that threw at WRs feet when pressured. If he resigns, we’ll see how he is with a full off-season. Kaepernick could challenge to be a starter next year or the year after.
Kaepernick will not be ready 2012, maybe 2013
Agreed. Kaepernick might never be the regular starter for the Niners.

The throws that Smith made at receivers’ feet yesterday were just throwaways, really. If you go back and look at those throws you’ll see that each receiver had no separation and Smith simply isn’t going to force the ball into a tight spot like that so I think he just threw it into the ground. It was wet as shit, windy as shit, he was getting flushed out of the pocket on those throws and I think he figured throwing it into the ground instead of over the yardage marker was less risky because a ball thrown higher up that happens to slip out of his hands in the driving rain might end up as a pick. I don’t really think he was trying to complete those passes at all. They have a great defense and he knows it and he knows that as long as he doesn’t fuck up big-time he’s going to get another shot at things.

I dont know DJ, just like my fat ass coach, his style is his style. I judge character on how he handles defeat not on how he embraces victory.

I see your point and agree in large part, but I also remember watching him play and he evolved over his career. He has not had an off season of being in the coaching fraternity of the NFL, combine and all the other stuff.

Watch next year he will be more subtle.

Harbaugh’s not very far-removed from the game. He’s so competitive and intense that I think when a game is over, especially one like that, he is just so caught up in everything that the feelings of his competitor are simply not on his mind. It isn’t that he has no respect for them, it’s just that he’s so committed to his own team and he’s so driven to beat the other team that when a huge game ends his only thoughts are really to his team and how the game went for them.

I used to think that Smith was a bust, however watching a few of there games this year, I see a QB that is just now starting to really learn how to be a NFL QB.

There are only a few really elite Brady and Mannings that come along, the guy can make the throws. 2013 will be the year to truly judge him, that will be his third year in the same system with talent around him.

And yes those throws were throw aways, I think he just played a great Defense that stopped the running game and took out the average WR.

Thats certainly one way of looking at it, at one point he was breathing so heavy on the sideline I seriously thought he was going to keel over…

If Coughlin somehow wins another super bowl, w/o question he deserves to be in the HOF.

Okay did you see my comments on Sanchize?

^No. In here?

Yep last NFL thread.

Long story short he is a Romo, a Danny White. He can take you to the promise land, but he has to have a top 5 defense and top 5 running game. If you dont have those it will not happen.

I wouldn’t even put him that class. I’m thinking more Tavaris Jackson, Matt Moore, type class.

I dont know, he technically has improved every year, however his team around him has not in my opinion. Now I seriously doubt the talent recognition of some of the Jets management.

Well, he did’nt. Also he is busy throttling billy Cundif while T Suggs crams a traffic cone up billys AZZ. Also, hating the Patriots is lame. It’s not our fault you got beat by the Donkeys, a team we blew out by 35…just because the Steelers couldnt beat either the Ravens or the Donkeys is no reason to hate the team that did

Matty is first and foremost a Jets fan, so he kind of has a reason to hate the Pats.

My mistake, its usually Steeler fans that hate the Pats. I never hated the Jets until they got that fat loud mouthed foot smeller Rex Ryan as a coach. Win the superbowl eh? try 8-8 fat boy. Never has a team talked so much shit for 2 years and failed miserably. And btw Sanchize sucks. Enough with the excuses. He regressed and never was that great to start with. while we are at it, tell Rob Ryan to STFU too. All those guys do is talk and lose. Nice act.
