When all the dust clears, this Niners team is fucking awesome. Going from 6-10 to 13-3 and coming within a hair to to going to the SB, is a incredible job. I guess if they can find some better receivers and who knows entice Peyton Manning to play on the west coast, this team is going to be a force for years to come.
Good game by the Giants. What was my team on 3rd downs, 1-12?
Will be a good game agasinst New England. I’ll be rooting for NY. It’ll be fun watching Brady go against that 4 man pass rush.

Who said it wasn’t fair and square? All I said is that as a fan and viewer of the game I feel like I got robbed of entertainment value when a special teams fumble by a team with probably the most solid special teams in the league completely changed the game.
Would you be more appeased if I used the word random in place of fluke? It matters not to me because it was a fumble that robbed me of seeing more enthralling, physical football. Instead I got to watch Eli belly flop to center the ball and a kicker make an extra point(I was actually hoping Bradshaw would just run for the TD, would’ve been emphatic and felt less… meh).
You act as if there wasn’t another 4 1/2 quarters of football before you “got to watch Eli belly flop to center the ball.” There was plenty of enthralling, physical football played if you tuned in before overtime.
In case you guys didn’t notice, Kyle Williams looked like he could’ve busted one for a score at any time. And his 40 yard return after a weak Tynes’ kickoff led directly to the game-tying field goal. That’s why he was in there.
Niners coaches made great defensive adjustments and pretty much shut down Eli in the 2nd half. And it’s obvious to me at least that Alex Smith’s “resurrection” is due in large part to SF’s extremely well-designed plays and play calls.
Both games were tossups. Niners won the first, Giants the second and fortunately the more important one.

Interesting how the word ‘more’ adds context to a sentence, insinuating that I wanted more of what I already saw and indeed had tuned in before overtime.
When I figure out how to watch more than 100% of a game I’ll get right on that.

NFL games are 4 quarters, you got 4 1/2. You watched 112% of a tough game. I’m sure that Giants fans are thrilled with the way the game ended. You do realize it has to end sometime.
To be honest I didn’t watch either game because I worked all day. I heard the Niners offense reverted back to it’s normal ways. Imagine if they had an elite QB on their team, they would be unstoppable.

x2…also the Niners got to Manning a shit ton more in the second half…his jersey was filthy!

Where the fuck was Crabtree???
I thought Alex Smith only passes to RBs or TEs.

him and Bradshaw took a fucking beating today, that’s for sure.
Yessir they did and the Giants couldnt win w/o em, obviously…Bradshaw basically matched Gores output.
Question for niner fans…
Is this the end of Smith as your QB? Im not saying he played badly but he showed his limitations, its obvious you guys can win with him at the helm, but is this because of as PG stated the playcalling around his limitations? Do you trust him as your QB next year when your down 10 points in a game?

Crabtree is a bust and could not get open against an eighty year old.
Smith played a decent game, he just has no WR that could separate like his RB and TE’s could. Plus with his ability to scramble and extend plays he is a serviceable QB that could develop now that he has a quality coach.
Strung I suggest not assuming what some rabid fans tell you and watch the game yourself before you make up your mind.

I was on the phone with my boy near the end of the game when the announcer said Smith had only one completion to a WR and we were both like WTF? how is that even possible!

Josh Morgan who they were high on got hurt. & of course Edwards was cut. If you had one of the 2, maybe that completion number would have gone up.
Balt. really really blew it. Not to many games where you get Brady that far off his game. Wouldn’t be a shocker if he lit the Giants secondary up. You don’t have to like him (which I don’t) but he is a fierce competitor.

I like Smith as well. Gets some WR’s that can get separation and see what happens. They have the O-Line and the defense in place to make a run.
As much as I loath Tom Brady I would much rather have two weeks of Pats hype than Ray Lewis and CO. hype. It’ll be a boring lead up to the game but atleast it will be more about football and less about speeches sounds bites.
Wait a minute, I forgot about Tuck and big dummy, they should be good for some bulliten board material lol. I actually like those players so I’m looking forward to that.
One last point about the Niners game. I’m a very superstitious person when it come to my sports teams.
When I watched Davis get up on that camera box and pose after scoring that TD early I had a very bad feeling about this game. If I was a Niners fan I would have been seething, bad football karma man. I looked at my wife on the couch and told her the Niners are going to be gutted by some bad mojo later in the game for that. I know it sounds stoopid but…
From what I’ve seen, Smith lacks the ability to make the “thread the needle” throws, i.e. he missed Kyle Williams I think it was who had beaten two defenders and was wide open for a long TD. All his best throws are when one side is open. Hope I expressed myself clearly there…
Great runner for sure. No Tim Tebow though -I kid, I kid.
