What a tragic way for this to end if the Giants end up hitting what should be an easy field goal(ask BAL’s kicker how that can go…). Hate to see a great game end on a ‘flukey’ mistake like that. Just feels wrong.

Flukey?
A fluke is a gust of wind knocking the ball off its course unexpectedly.
The 49ers just cant hold on to the ball.

It can be considered a fluke if that dude never fumbles the ball, but since he muffed a punt earlier I would say it’s not a fluke.

Giants player got his hand in there and hit it, he didnt hold on to it, not a fluke.
But we are just splitting hairs.
Congratulations to the Giants, time for a Super Bowl rematch!
On another note, America got the Super Bowl they wanted. I hate both teams though so not the one I was looking for.

I didn’t say it was one. A fluke is anything that has an unlikely chance of occurrence. Take it as you will.

Going to address both quotes in 1 post…
49ers can’t hold onto the ball? Least turnovers in the NFL all season.
Also the first ‘muff’ was a ball that barely bounced into his kneepad, it’s not like he butterfingered it. There is absolutely no precedent for the 9ers ‘dropping the ball’(lulz pun) on special teams, it just kind of happened, and the game directly ended because of it.
As a person who had no ‘dog’ in the playoffs I just want to see maximum entertainment and good football. Overtime ending because the most solid special teams team in the league fumbles a punt return is not good football.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
Great game, cant call that fumble flukey, He was hit and it jarred loose…both defenses were incredible, some viscous hitting Eli is going to be EXTREMELY sore tomorrow…
Gotta put in for a vacation day for da rematch!
great, same SB as a few years ago. What crap!
Hate Brady, don’t like Giants. Must root for Giants (Skins fan talkin)

lol my bad, I worded it badly. Meant “49ers player couldnt hold on to the ball.” wasnt making a comment as to the entire season or team.
And strungoutboy, my bad, I misread you.

Really no “dog” in the playoffs? it was clear in a post before that you did when you said lets go niners.
While the first muff may be flukey give credit to the Giants player who saw and knew it barely hit his kneepad…Why was the second hit flukey? He fumbled it directly because of the hit, not because of grazing knee pads or divine intervention.
The Giants beat the niners fair and square.
So the game wasnt a great game because of a fumble in OT? For a person who didnt have a “dog” in the fight, I doubt you would be saying the same thing if it were the other way around.

Well Kyle Williams played a great game for the Giants tonight.
I’m going to go kill myself now.

Yeah So did Justin Tuck, Jacquan Williams, JPP, Eli Manning and Ahmad Bradshaw.
Lots of passive aggressive butthurt in these comments…

If it wasn’t for Kyle Williams bouncing that ball off his knee, there would have never been an overtime. And if he wouldn’t have lost the ball in the overtime they wouldn’t have gotten that field goal.
Fuck kyle williams and have fun watching a boring ass superbowl. Both the 49ers games were the most interesting in the playoffs, no matter what team you like.
Unless you liked watching high school level qb tebow running around doing nothing or the ravens missing easy field goals.
OH BOY THE PATRIOTS WIN THE SUPERBOWL 35-27 HOW FUN.

Who said it wasn’t fair and square? All I said is that as a fan and viewer of the game I feel like I got robbed of entertainment value when a special teams fumble by a team with probably the most solid special teams in the league completely changed the game.
Would you be more appeased if I used the word random in place of fluke? It matters not to me because it was a fumble that robbed me of seeing more enthralling, physical football. Instead I got to watch Eli belly flop to center the ball and a kicker make an extra point(I was actually hoping Bradshaw would just run for the TD, would’ve been emphatic and felt less… meh).
So disgusted right now. Why the fluck was Kyle Williams out there after muffing a punt. I don’t even know if I can recover enough to watch the Superbowl knowing my 9ers could have played.

No reason to appease me, you can call it what you want and Ill see it as not giving a team credit. No FG is a gimmie as the first game showed you.
