I really want to know what Harbaugh has done that makes him qualified to be the highest paid coach in the NFL? I understand he took a 1-xx Stanford team to a bowl game and likely #3 ranking in COLLEGE but I just don’t think the college game and pro’s are the same. Sure he deserves a job in the pro’s but come on man, getting paid more than all the proven coaches, I can’t see it. Then again we’re talking about Miami…Redskins south.
I think its an accumulation of things.
The model has changed due to Bellichick and his prtoeges success. You now need a less traditional pedigree to get a chance as an NFL coach. Just look at all the coaches who didnt play at a high level and came from small liberal arts schools.
What he did at Stanford is quite impressive.
The succeess his brother had while also being promoted from a non-heralded position. Ravens are now a perennial SB contender and their def. is only very good not incredible. That says alot for the mans pedigree.
Back to one the model for the personality of a coach has also changed alot. While the Cowher/Gruden type is still the norm, The Dungies, the Bellichicks and harbraughs have shown that you do not have to be a big blustery yelling bag of douche to be a great coach.

I agree with what your saying but imo the Ravens head coach whines a little too much on the sidelines. Some folks see it as showing emotion and enthusiasm but when shit hits the fan, I would rather see my HC looking calm, focused with controlled agression talking to his assistants, not giving a sermon on the bench that the players have heard a thousand times before. I would like him(Harbaugh) as a head coach but I don’t know if I would love him as a HC. The players love him obviously and I don’t blame them.
KC is going to get killed this weekend, I wish it were otherwise but I just don’t see KC getting it done.
Yea i was skeptical of freeman but he’s really come into his own. he’s starting to make the right decisions and looks to pass before pulling it down to run… I think TB has found his qb for the next few years at least.

Man I went through a whole season of Jim Mora Jr pouting and whinig on the sidelines. A 6 month old baby would have been more manly. So harbaugh isnt even that bad to me.

I never liked JR either…even less now that he’s a talking head.

^ I will add also that this Harbaugh played in the NFL.
Correct. He has great pedigree, both as a player and a coach.
Out of all the available candidates, I think he gives a team the best shot to win a Super Bowl in due time. If owners and front offices agree, than there really isn’t a price that is to high.
I can only hope that Harbaugh wants to stay on the West Coast, which is where he’s been for most of his career, and think that the higher degree of control that he would be given in the 49ers organization could make a difference in his decision process.
“ESPN’s Mike Sando reports that ex-Broncos coach Josh McDaniels is not interested in the 49ers’ head coaching vacancy. San Francisco apparently doesn’t have enough elite skill players to trade away for McDaniels’ liking, particularly with Frank Gore’s value down after a fractured hip. McDaniels had one of the worst head coaching stints in NFL history with the Broncos. The 49ers are much, much better off without him.”

Hahahaha, definitely made me lolz.
LOl, Luck is staying (dont believe it) so I guess San Fran will try to pick up Vince?
Seriously anybody take a gander on where Vince goes? I say Vikings or Oakland.

No joke. I’ve been talking him up since last year. He’s the real deal. TB turned it around quick. Just goes to show what a QB centric league the NFL has become.
^ As a Cowboys fan I hope he leaves. Giants were another team with everything in place this year, what do you all think happened? What changes in personel do you think they should make.
so i was happy now im sad… harbaugh rumored to be coming to MIA with a contract worth up to 8 mil/season but now reports say talks were broken off thursday night…
*sigh back to another year of mediocrity…
oh and i think VY goes to oakland… they love basket cases there
