NFL 2010 X 3

The game is almost getting too big, the stage is so much bigger now… this behavior is a byproduct.

Beating an opponent with sound coaching and good fundementals isn’t enough anymore, not exciting enough I guess. Celebrate big plays not routine ones. I almost feel sorry for players today that they need to get themselves so psyched up before AND after a play, routine or not. Does it actually make them better than spending more time in the film room? Different kind of mental game today perhaps.

Pass the grapenuts and geritol please…now I’ll go have a nap.

The next few games Eli could really solidify himself as a top QB, with no WRs to speak of besides Mannigham and Boss (Derek Hagan, Michael Clayton and Devin Thomas OUCH!) I think the Jints are gonna torch the skins
You shut your face Matty!!! It’s not like the Skins are playing with anything but CFL players either- Anthony Armstrong, etc…

I realize this is a rebuilding year but why did we really have to go and fuck with our defense? We went from one of the best to one of the worst. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Shit.

I’m going to FedEx to watch the game in the owner’s box that night. Free booze and food- should be fun!!

Also, didn’t I call that the Eagles had a weak D? Their offense is high powered but their weakness is the D. Almost unfortunately (for them), their offense is so quick that it gets them off the field too fast LOL
LOL…but the Giants are even playing with bullshit bust draft picks that couldnt even make it on your horrible offense (i.e. Devin Thomas)

But this is good for you nate, Im usually always wrong! Shit I picked the Cards to win the division!
I still think Devin Thomas will turn it around. He’ll play well for someone. Eventually…

Wes Welker is going to be a tough matchup for the Jets. They tend to do very well against the big WRs and not as well against the small shifty guys. Jets have the better surronding cast but my money is on BB and Brady over Rex and Sanchez. Pats are at home and have a great record when they have extra time to prepare.

i think this year the jets will take the pats at home…

pats: young secondary, average pass rush, young defense, above average OL, Excellent qb, average wr, running game thats just finding its own…

jets: established secondary, excellent pass rush/blitz, average OL, above average qb, above average wr, above average running game…

i think the jets blitz brady a few times grab a few qb hurries, sacks and razzle brady a bit and throws off timing etc, jets on the other hand sustain a few long drives score some pts…

i see the jets taking this game by at least 3, it’ll be a close game tho… i look for sanchez to have a good game esp with holmes coming out as a weapon now, holmes and keller across the middle, edwards as a deep threat and cotchery to mop up underneath, LT in the flat…

Gotta disagree Vin, The Jets O-line is one of the best in football, their pass rush is horrible and barely get to the QB even if they are blitzing. Its a real weak point of their Defense, something they need to get better on in the draft. Their best pass rusher, Calvin Pace has been invisible since hes been back. Teams have recognized that they blitz espescially on third down and have been getting hurt because of it, Rex needs to scale back the blitzing somewhat on third down because Brady will kill em with quick underneath passes to Welker.

Pure & simple on Mon’s night game. Half shitty def (patz) half shitty O (jets) we’ll see who holds court.

well the jets defense is pretty solid… allowint 17 pts/game (4th in the nfl), 296.9 yds/game (3rd in the nfl), 210.6 yds passing/game (12th in the nfl) and 86.3 yds rushing/game (4th in the nfl)… that means they are top 5 in the nfl in three defensive categories and all the while accumulating 24 sacks which avg’s out to about 2/game…

thats pretty good IMO… i haven’t watched many jets games but the few games i saw they were getting adequate pass rush on the qb…

also sanchez has been sacked 19 times this year thats a little much for one of the best OL’s in football… and sanchez has been scrambling around a few times so that could account for some sacks…again i don’t watch many games but it seems like sanchez was being flushed from the pocket quite a few times…

Yes he was, but only because he was holding on to the ball like Ben Roethelsberger, The stats you mentioned are misleading, When you blitz as much as the Jets do you will get to QB, but they have no real pass rushers and will never get to the QB straight up. Mangold, Ferguson, Woody and Moore are one of the best Olines in football, and are underrated with regards to how athletic they could be. There one weakness could be at Guard with Matt Slauson, he has however improved quite a bit from the beginning of the season.

I’m going to agree with Matty on this one. The Jets pass rush hasn’t been anywhere close to what is expected out of a top unit, and their offensive line is one of the best groups in the league.

I think this might be a reverse case where the Jets defensive secondary (and their superb cover skills) makes the defensive line look better than they are. From a pure pass rush perspective though, the Jets needs to get more out of that area (their starting DE’s have combined for 3.5 sacks).

hmm i thought DE’s don’t get much of a push in a 3-4 def anyways? OLB’s should be getting most of the sacks… ghoulston is what is hurting u guys… def nothing like he was in college… i think he has 0 sacks this year… old man JT has 4

Excellent point WC, the fact is the Jets DLine is solid and unspectacular. Shaun Ellis is as steady as they come espescially against the run. Mike Devito, a fave of mine, again is a classic overachiever and a solid player, same goes for Sione Pouha, which are career backups and thrusted into starting role because of injury. There backups include Vernon the ghost Gholston because he is invisible.

The Jets D is based on their corners and whole secondary for that matter

Jesus Print, pick up the tennis ball and throw it, your avi dog is waiting like a good dog should and it’s driving me nuts lol.

I just read how the Steelers and Terrell Suggs of all people are bitching about the fines JH is getting. I’m a homer but come on. Hines Ward is talking about having more autograph signings to help Harrison out lol. The dude is filthy rich, getover it.

Harrison did make a point that untill the media starts to rag about it more Godell will keep em’ comeing, I despise that asshole.

Losing Jenkins had a domino affect I suspect for the whole Jets D line, dominant NT’s like him are few and far between. Your right about the DE’s in a 3-4, their primary goal is to occupy the O’linemen and plug running lanes so the LB’s can get to the QB. However when they(DE) do get to the QB it’s beutifull thing lol.

Wilba I sure as hell hope this is the case, I have Welker in both my fantasy teams.

So he can get 10 catches with two touchdowns in a loss to the Jets. The all will be right in the world. Who do the Giants play this week?
