Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. I’ve finally decided to ditch the couch and start working on my fitness. For context, I’m 180 cm tall and weigh around 95 kg. Before making this decision, I was completely inactive, and honestly, I’m starting from a pretty weak and low-endurance point. My goal is to change that!
I’m planning to start working out at home for now, and this is the equipment I currently have:
4 x 5 kg weight plates
4 x 2.5 kg weight plates
2 x dumbbell bars
1 x 100 cm barbell bar
I know it’s not a massive setup, but it’s what I have to work with. I’m really keen to hear your advice on how I can effectively use this equipment to build strength and improve my overall fitness at home.
Please note: I’m not looking for gym recommendations at this stage, and I’d really appreciate constructive advice and encouragement as I take these first steps.
So its not just me that feels that way? I come back on here and thats what it feels like. Ive been around the block and some of the stuff certain people claim just doesnt compute.
First suggestion would be to get a doorway mounted pullup bar and more weight plates. You can probably find some for a good price on Facebook Marketplace. That will allow you to challenge yourself way more and give yourself room to progress.
I’d suggest looking into some bodyweight programs. You can really challenge yourself, especially starting out, and use your weight set in addition to that.
