Newbie Lifter Seeking Advice On Form

I actually don’t recall you asking my thoughts on the thread, at least, not simply, as you stated. In general, it’s seemed needlessly antagonistic, and it’s not really anything I need to engage in at the moment. I see no benefit in discussing the matter, as it will not make me stronger.

I am content to have you disagree with my statement. If you wish to think I am wrong, I am fine with that. In the same token, I also disagree with your argument. If you are not content with that, I apologize, but it is as far as this will go.

The amicable thing is simply to agree to disagree and move on, no?

Look, the fact that you found the idea of a 20 rep 210# squat so unbelievable that you called BS less than a month ago, puts you in the category of blind leading blind. Also the fact that you disagree with the obivious fact that this is a high bar squat so adamantly further brings credence to the fact that you need to do a lot more listening and learning before puffing your chest out on the internet. You are making yourself look foolish.

Know the OP, who is in a thread seeking lifting advice because he is a newb, said that he put the bar “just below his traps, between high and low bar position” which sounds a lot like a high bar. And also I think you have fallen into the trap of assuming that a squats performance is the indicator of high or low bar position.

It is not and that is why Punisher told him to lower the bar, because he is performing the movement of a low bar (which is also referred to as a power squat, basically a hip hinge first) instead of a high bar (also referred to as an Olympic squat with a knee hinge first).

A lot of people squat with varying degrees of crossover between the two based off their leverages. I think its Lillibridge that has a pretty good example of a hybrid between the two, could be thinking of the wrong guy though.

I would have to say that it definitely isn’t fully a low bar squat, it isn’t fully high bar either.

You’re only missing what is probably the most pointless argument on this site in recent times. And that includes the PX shitstorm threads (but not HH’s many threads about religion).

Arguing about whether the guy was squatting HB vs LB in the video is about as useful to improving the guy’s squat as telling him to squat in a fucking tutu (though that would at least be entertaining).

Now, I think what’s left of the thread has degenerated into bashing Jarvan because he made his point in a very abrasive manner, as he often seems to do.

Thanks for the advice everyone. This is 260. I’ll post another view from the rear maybe you can tell me f I’m high or low or if I should or could go lower.

If your referring to this statement I was talking about maybe the OP does not the difference not you. I never speculated whether you or punisher wer correct nor did I flame either of you as I still have not seen the video and still can not see it or the new ones. So I’d just like to point out that maybe your just finding fights were there are none.
