Just found this new Watchmen trailer where the director introduces the movie and all of the actors/characters. Man I cannot wait for this movie to come out.

If they are allowed to distribute it. The company that produced it recently lost a court case in California after another studio that shelved the project in the 90’s filed a claim saying they never relinquished the right. They won and now the disty contract is in jeparody.

Something similar happened with Spiderman. The spiderman movie concept was originally scheduled for some time before 1996 (I think it was 1993 specifically). It didn’t hit theaters until the new millennium because it was wrapped up in court.
This may be the first time they have actually already finished a movie and then had this happen.

I remember that. I am amazed they are as far along in the process as they are. It was by no means a cheap movie to make and everyone in Hollywood knew it was being made.
I hope it comes out as scheduled. It would be a shame to wait. Not like the story won’t hold up or the quality will degrade but so far what I’ve seen looks spectacular.

That leads me to believe it’s just a money issue. They don’t want to stop the film from being released, they just want to get paid, too.

Believe it or not is about the old batman TV series. Fox owns the rights to the show and wants to put it out on DVD…batman is owned by warner bros. and they said no…fox owns the rights to watchmen, so now they’re fucking with warner bros…hopefully they resolve the issue and we get at least one awesome movie in 09.
looks fantastic. unbelievable trailer. looks just like the novel the soundtrack sounds like it may be great too even though i hear one song playing. that sounded a little like rufus wainwright
