I am new to the whole philosophy of HIT and I love the theory! I hope it works for me. I recently purchased the 30-10-30 program. I am excited to try it! I personally like to have a few months of the training program so I was wondering how does this fit into a 6-month cycle? Rest and Repeat or could it only be used at certain times of the year?
You could either do it forever, adding weight every time, do it with new exercises, or eventually learn to make your own program where you cycle between a more standard routine like in the new HIT and a 30-10-30 workout.
For instance, Monday-New HIT, Wednesday 30-10-30, Friday-New HIT
Or you could even reverse that and do two 30-10-30 workouts and one New HIT workout. You can pick routines and exercises that fit a body part you’re trying to focus on or that is lagging.
I would recommend just following Extreme HIT 30-10-30 by the book for your first run-through. You can add your own tweaks and adjustments to better fit yourself once you understand the fundamentals.
Always feel free to ask questions, as Dr. Darden checks the board regularly and many of us on the board have run through the routine and would be happy to help or offer guidance and support any way we can.
Welcome @lionhearted721 !
I agree with what Dave said. If you move from Weider/Arnold high volume training territory, I highly recommend making a smooth transition via Dr Darden’s The New HIT. A very well written book, with a rep cadence not too unfamiliar. Also, the Jones/Darden HIT basic strategies is described in there for an interesting read. I always return to that book for some reason.
I made a 8 kg (approx 18 lbs) gain of weight without increasing my body fat, after 6 months of using that book as a guideline. That proved the concept for me, appearantly being a responder.
