New Study- Weight Training Can KILL YOU!!

Some truths to the article a lot false…

I think tlmorrison summed it up nicely.

Pesonally, I never liked the “super slow training.” And its not for there reason that was stated in the article.

I just think “super slow” training effects your body to move slower… And
your body “functional” never acts slow. Your muscle moves very ballisticly and explosively… In all walks of life not only in a athletic point of view…

So…I should just stay home and get fat? WTF? So it’s better to be obese than to lift weight???

I’d rather live healthy and die at 40 rather than be fat, live poorly and die at 100.

I believe I did read that the most common place for a heart attack is on the toilet. So as stated before, the most dangerous thing you can do is take a shit.

Did anyone notice the mention of one death related to lifting, and then a number of all people who die from aneurysms? That is like mentioning a sneeze causing an accident then stating that there are over 41,000 people die in car accidents each year. This is worthless information used in a way to twist facts. I would like to know what percent of aneurysms is weight lifting related. Just that one?

On a side note, when I started lifting at 20, my blood pressure was borderline. Weight lifting got it to normal, and my pulse to athletic. And without cardio.

Oh yeah, Super Slow done the way it is intended will give you a blood pressure spike equal to or greater then regular weight lifting.

Doesn’t this all really come down to the phrase “Don’t be stupid”?

I mean, seriously, anything can kill you if done inappropriately of if it conflicts with their systems.
things like:
1)eggs are one of the most nutritious foods you can eat…unless you’re allergic to them, then they can kill uyou.
2)penicillin can cure you of that late night indiscretion with “the hot chick from the bar”… or it can kill you if you react to it
3)shoveling snow in winter can give you a heart attack… don’t do it if you have reason to beleive your system can’t handle it.
4)skiing is great excercise, but it can be bad for your knees…don’t do it if you have bad knees!
5)typing is a useful skill…but it can cause carpel tunnel syndrome.
6)Sunlight is exremely important, especially in northern climates… just don’t spent 10 hours in hot sun!

COME ON!!! Can’t we jsut excercise some common sense on this? Should we just not do anything b/c it might cause some form of damage possiblt sometime down the road. Why don’t we just hole ourselves up indoors, never expose ourselves to any dirt or germ and sit on the couch and sip purified water with our eyes closed (artificial light is hard on the eyes).

Would it be so difficult to simply do a little research on whatever it is we’re thinking of doing so we can a) find out if it’s right for us individually, and b)do it properly if we do decide to do it…
