New Study on Chocolate Milk

don’t like it.

I think everyone is at least a little intolerant to milk. That flemmy feeling? mild reaction possibly?.. I think at least. Why not take a more deliberate approach to macronutrient ratios ingested post-workout by taking something designed for recovery.

I guess if your stuck its a great alternative, but i wouldn’t make a habit of it. better than gatorade? shocking, because its such a incredible product…

there’s nothing magical about a recovery drink. gatorade or chocolate or whatever. what you want after your workout <and before your workout, and during your workout, if you ask me> is CALORIES. carbs, protein, fats, it’s all good in the hood.

Excellent point. That’s why I have a six-pack of Budweiser after my workouts. Mass gains, especially in the abs region, have been amazing.

You sure about that? I drink two, sometimes three litres a day and never feel ‘phlemy’.

Anyway, I agree with hueyOT. Calories are what’s important. I usually use a dextrose/maltodextrin/whey mix but if I don’t have it I just eat a hamburger, drink some chocolate milk or whatever.

That is because you are getting ‘better’ milk than us…
K.

I disagree. While many or even most are intolerant of milk and dairy I have no problems at all with it.

Northern Europeans have been drinking cows milk for 10,000 or more years and seem to handle it better than most other people.

some think that pasteurization and homogenization are the main culprits here.

Could be for some. I seem to have had no problems digesting pasteurized milk for the past 40 years.

My wife does not deal with milk or other dairy as well.

I must be one of the lucky ones.

What do you expect from a study funded by the dairy industry?

that article is lame.

what does “until exhaustion mean” ? did this take 4 hours ? 4 minutes ? were they pussies ?

what does “chocolate milk” mean ? milk with melted chocolate folded in ? whole milk ? skim mlk ? what kind of chocolate ? ovaltine ? nestle-quick ? hershey’s chocolate colored corn syrup ?
The Study, published back in February 2006, might answer some of your questions:

Ya, ya, ya. Author’s here have been extolling the virtues of chocolate milk as a cheapo substitute for ages now.

When are we going to get to the new and important stuff? Any studies on beef lately?

Yeah I heard eating beef tainted with Mad Cow Disease can give you IBS.

Good luck getting Biotest to tout Chocolate milk over Surge but it is cheaper and tastes great. Makes sense to me for a post workout drink.
Really, first thing I thought of when I read this headline was T-Nation already told how good chocolate milk was post workout a long time ago.

So we don’t need good luck. We just need to check out older articles.

i’m not sure what you’re trying to imply with this post, but if you’re trying to suggest that when i recommended carbs, fats and protein, that i was referring to a six-pack of budweiser, you’re wrong.

i don’t think people always need to have someone hold their hand to tell them EXACTLY what they must eat. if i told a trainee to get some quality calories into him after training, and he think i’m referring to beer, well, then that kid’s lacking common sense.
