New Race to Six Hundred

I’m in. I pulled 545 tonight, in my squat suit. Missed 585 at my knees. I’ll go for 585 again as a 2nd or 3rd attempt at my first meet October 3rd. And continue to get strong and chase 600

600 is getting dominated tonight…

unfortunatly im going to probably have to wear straps as ive got 19 calluses. i pulled 700lbs from 15inch last week strapless so i know my grip is rock solid.

its 13.17 here… gym at 1600… 600 will be locked out before 1700.

Should had more too, but my hands fell to pieces on the 280.

If hands were solid there was probably a good shot at 290 there tonight.

Need to get my back in a far better position at start. the roundness is making lockout damn near impossible!!

I need to “know” i have 280 in the bag before feb. Scotlands Strongest Man has a 280 DL as an eliminator event in the qualifiers. If you cant pull 180 and put 120 (i think) overhead then you cant qualify for the final even if you win the actual qualifier. Shit rule imo but i should have 300+ by then.

I never had an issue with lockout, but it’s that band thing again. My 400 against the bands us 620-630 at the top. I never use straps btw. For a short guy I’m blessed with big hands, my son is the same way. He’ll be sixteen next week and just last week closed a 1.5 ironmind gripper for example .

ive repped number 2

my hands are solid, i locked out 310kg from 15inch last week and have locked out and held (12seconds) 390kg/860lbs from 20inch on a trap bar. but ive trained 16 times in 18 days. a lot of it involving some sort of high rep movement and my hands are falling apart.

Pulled 605 tonight in an assload of gear.

Got 565 last night, in my squat suit. Lockout sucked, but I stuck with it until it went up. I need to add 20 lbs to my deadlift for my meet October 3rd. For deadlift I pull singles up to max, then Romanian deadlifts with straps for 3 sets of 6-8 with 405. Rack lockouts from 5 inches below knees, heavy singles at 585 3 times. Then hamstring curls, hypers of the not reverse type with bodyweight x 50. And I finish with 4 sets of abs. I also rotate in box squats and good mornings in place of rdl’s and rackpulls every few weeks. Any suggestions to get 585 by October 3rd for my first meet?

Missed it on Saturday at about 3-4" like I always do. Should have tried 585.

What’s your gameplan now? Are you going to cycle back up to 585 and give it a ride?

Yep, just start back again this week with some different exercises. Reverse bands, platform deadlifts, and first pin pulls. The go for 585 in app six weeks. My lockout has gotten as strong as I need it and now I need just a bit from the floor.
